I’m sorry Ms. King, but it’s a no for me. 1.5 ⭐️’s
I’m really happy that the female lead character is a college student who seemed to have gotten herself together. But for a psychology student who supposedly has a 4.0 GPA, she sure is dumb. Why did she have to get pregnant? 🙄🤦🏾♀️
I was also happy to read that the main male character didn’t have a fetish about her being black and didn’t make comments about her “chocolate skin”. Again, a billionaire not smart enough to wear a condom but was extremely protective when it came to his own sons?!
I wanted to like it but I couldn’t. This won’t stop me from reading her other work. Just wish plots weren’t the same when it came to black women written by black authors.
I did not feel the love nor lust between Jonathan and Trisha. They both had too many internal conversations with themselves and not each other. Having unprotected sex is definitely a no no and for her to become pregnant was just another example of that overused plot device in this genre. Also, there was confusion about Trisha's background. We're told she was raised in a lower middle class home with both parents working to make ends meet and when she reveals the pregnancy, she doesn't want to be like her mother having sex with men to get ahead. Both characters were juvenile and the story just unbelievable and highly disappointing
I found a few grammatical errors in The Nanny. I also thought the the character buildup was too quick. The unprotected sex was a bit of a let down but overall, I liked the story. The other two books had the same character development issues. All of the relationships seemed rushed. I still enjoyed them though. I hope over time the author will get better...she’s off to a good start.
This was good to me. It was entertaining, didn't drag or bore me. There's wasn't much unique about the plot, I like that the drama was down-played which is very uncommon with interracial romance. They had some communication issues but it wasn't drastic or abnormal. The cards were stacked against them but they discovered that they found some (other than their hot sexy time) worth keeping.
I have yet to find a romance novel written by the talented Ms. Imani King that I haven't liked. And this one is no different!! The chemistry that was formed between Trisha and Jonathan was amazing!! And I loved the fact that their she difference wasn't a factor!!! In my opinion, this story had no chance of going wrong!!!
I did not know this was a Mutli-book buy had i known in advance I most definitely would not have wasted my 💰. I truly freaking hate when authors do not make it CLEAR AS CRYSTAL that we are buying a Multi-book purchase!!! Huge turn off for me. The story was way too rushed for me with no character development.
Even a blind man can tell it’s the Imani’s style of writing ignorant female leads, rather portrayed as naive but super ignorant. Each time I read her books I just think what a mentality to have. Like they say one man’s meat is another one poison. So no change to the I’d school rural mentality there. I miss my village.
This way a good read. Jonathan a older single father looking for a nanny to help take the load off. Trisha a young psychology student in need of extra cash. They had good chemistry but it was a lil to fast paced. They had some communication issues and I'm glad Jonathan put her mind at ease quickly. Good Read💞💞
This was ok. I liked the premise of the story. I've read similar nanny stories. This one was fairly predictable. I'm giving it 3 stars because I found too many grammar and spelling errors.
This book is fabulous and really well written. From cover to cover, the storylines and the characters flowed so fluently that it's like reading non stop twist after twist... Especially the book "Secret Billionaire".
Good read words were a little much for my taste . I usually read Lyndsay Sands or Brenda Jackson and then it might just be me cause there is no love of my life and I am older now. Thank you book was a good read porters759@gmail.com
Great read! Enjoyed every moment. Nice story different perspective, older character with older children. Interesting how the author eventually tied all of them together. Would have enjoyed reading more of the nanny/children relationship.
Jonathan Ashcourt was an over worked father and widower in need of a new nanny after his long time nanny retired. Alexander and Declan were very active and precocious school aged boys. Trisha Holcut was a financially strapped psychology student in need of a better job. Unbeknownst to her, Trisha's BFF Samantha applied for the job for her and she got it. Overtime, Trisha became very attached to the boys and enjoyed her job and would do anything to keep them from experiencing lose in their young lives again.
Then, it happened. Jonathan and Trisha took that step and could not resist their attraction to each other any longer. Jonathan swore he would remain a bachelor for the rest of his life after the death of is wife Jackie., that is until Trisha wormed her way into his heart.
Imani wrote a sweet love story of an older guy and younger woman romance. Each one having doubts about their budding love and how it would affect the well being of the boys. This was an enjoyable read.
A lot of misspellings, grammar errors, and lack of cohesion, but the story line was just good enough to overlook those flaws...just barely. The ending seemed rushed, like author crammed the epilogue into to the final chapter without fully developing the characters on how they got to point B from point A. That part disgusted me a bit. May hold off from reading another book from this author awhile. Need a refresher before delving back in for another read on a different installment. Proceed with an open, Wide Open mind and take it or leave it. It’s simply an “OK” book. That’s it.
Two souls from opposite ends of the track find love. The outcome is often predictable but it's about the path taken to get to that point. I enjoyed it as deep at heart I am a true romantic.
