Lots of action for action junkies. Too familiar story of a CIA asset that, once used, will be thrown away.
The cartel attack on the United States was way overwritten by the author. Fiction requires a certain amount of fantasy, but this was way over the top. Cartel with Soviet fighters and attack helicopters?

Too much useless sex and drugs used by the hero.
Too much sex and drugs used by the hero. Too much destruction of friendly assets. Way too much super shooting by the hero while making it seem easy to do so. The whole story was borderline absurd.

I’ve had a lot heroes over the years from Tom Sawyer to Jack Reacher and many hundreds in-between.
Jack Hunter is my new hero and for good reason, he’s a assassin on a level above any of the current contemporary ones so popular right now but he has ethics about any collateral harm to some of innocents around his “mark”.
It’s really hard not to like-this guy even after he eliminates the many bodyguards and other bad-guy associates surrounding his target and he finds the 7 year-old daughter whose mom and grand-mom were killed while they were “inter-acting” with Jack Hunter while he is in Mexico trying to kill his target.
He takes this crying little girl from relative to her Mom’s friends trying to find her a new home while being chased all over Mexico by other cartel members trying to kill him.
This is a hero-assassin with a heart! Certainly a 5-Star well deserved!

Both amazing and horrible
This book is pure, action-flick kind of fun. It reads like a Rambo movie, going from one violent scene to the next. And it was a lot of fun to read.
But that is where the good ends...and there's lots of bad. It is in desperate need of even basic editing...or even a second draft. There are so many spelling errors, and simple mistakes it is a frustrating read. Often the sentence structures read like something an ESL student would write. The author seriously needs to respect the reader more, and get his work edited. It is really, really bad. And for a book that is making a splash as big as this one is to be so riddled with glaring errors feels like the writer just doesn't care about producing a professional level product.
But the bad doesn't end with the poor editing. The story constantly refers to CIA case officers as "agents," which is a term Hollywood uses, but is not accurate. The writer claims to have current and former national security officials advising him, but after reading this book (and the prequel) it seems like he may be referring to Jason Bourne movies for his fact checking.
And then there's the sex scenes. Boring, rapey sex abounds, and in the middle of the book I was sure it turned completely into erotica...but it was awful. Hey author, there are multiple words for both male and female genitalia. You should learn them.
All in all, a fun story that doesn't take itself too seriously. But with a little editing, even a single round, and it would go from 3 star to 4. As it is, this book is an eye gouging experience.
I will read the next one, but won't expect much more than a fun story that isn't edited. If its better than that, I may read further.

Sinaloa At Their Worst
Pretty good story, even better if you see the possibilities. The story involves the FBI, CIA, and the US Government at war with the Sinaloa Cartel. Not just the war on drugs but an all out assault of Mexican soil. The story is well written with lots of details and special black ops involvement. The plot was exciting and told with few omitted details. If other Jack Hunter books are similar then I’m sure I’ll be a steady reader. I highly recommend this book.

Porn and Limited Vocabulary
Thought I was getting a book in the vein of Ben Coes, Brad Taylor, Mark Greaney, et al. Not even close. If the
"F" word was deleted, the book would be a chapter shorter. If the porn was deleted, the book would be 3 chapters shorter. Read it because I paid for it. Won't be reading any more unless the author develops a more expansive vocabulary allowing him to express himself without the gratuitous profanity and becomes able to develop a story without crude basic porn.

If you like spies doing undercover work you will enjoy this book
Not quite sure I like a character Who has very little or no moral compass. I understand that a undercover operative asked to do a lot of things, but some of the things this operative did in this book are reprehensible I also found the book a little slow because most of it took place in one locale. If you like a book dealing with undercover work which seems monotonous to me you may enjoy this book.

GREAT ASSASSIN SNIPER BOOK
I read this book in three days. I couldn’t ‘ t put it down. Great way the author developed the characters. From a troubled CIA hitman to corrupt Deep State individuals to Mexican drug cartel members. If you like gritty action and a deeply flawed hero this is your book. There were so many twists and turns it had me guessing to the very end. I highly recommend this book!

First time I read Rawlings Cash. Good character description and a good plot line . Action at every turn deceit and double crosses along the way. One major problem for me was the back story of his wife and stepdaughter being killed before the plot kicks off, but the reason is only hinted at l would have liked more background. I will look forward to more of this character and maybe the rest of the story.

Reaching his goal was #1
His goal never left his sight. It was always upper most no matter what. The political side of two countries held his goal together. He killed many and had sex with many more. Throughout his travels from party to murder, sex, and drugs. He always had thoughts of right and wrong. Maybe he listen to his inter most plans or not. This was an excellent read except for one major flaw: reading this book cost me about 6 hours of lost sleep because I couldn't put the thing down.
I typically read for about a half hour before going to sleep. Two hours was the minimum with this thriller, and last night it was three hours to finish it off, meaning when the alarm went off this morning I was one groggy camper!
Well-written, fast-paced thriller with some exceptional characters. Pity I can't give it more stars.

Great book!
Well developed characters. Only issue is a few typos and words used improperly. For example, at least twice the author used the word "cartridge" instead of the word "magazine" when talking in context about firing a pistol. Other than that I liked the book and can't wait for the next in the series.

Hunter is the real deal
The character is authentic. Skilled tough yet still very human. The plot causes you to stop and think. It also tells you we need to be absolutely tough when it comes to killing the drug trade. Get off the sidelines get in the ugly games of life and decide what you would do.

Reading this book is like “fast casual dining” which is better than fast food but not quite a sit down dinner. This is fun, it moves quickly and the good guy is good with a gun and good with women. So there’s your plot. The overall plot is a bit of a “suspend your disbelief” kind of a story line. But again, it’s not fine dining. A good “meal” and a fun read. I’d read the next one.

I read several books a week. I have a new favorite protagonist. The book was interesting, informative, and fast paced. The characters were well drawn. I look forward to seeing them develop in future books in this series. The bold move by a drug cartel to take over the US is frightening and realistic!

A very good book
Liked the character . The story was one that leaves you wanting more. What I didn't like was the long description of weapons and details of other things. Still important but could have been less. All in all I really enjoyed this book.I would definitely read his next one.

Great story. I loved the twists and turns of the plot and I love the imagination that went in to all the carnage that the cartel heaped on the US.
The story telling is what I like the best, but it’s nice to have a hero who prevails. Will recommend to all lovers of action and heros.

Couldn't finish this book
The violence in this book was so horrifying I couldn't stand it. When I got to the part about roasting people alive I closed the book. I dont want those images in my brain.....ever. Maybe the book went somewhere more positive but I refused to go along for the ride.

Gritty, But Amazing
Wow is all I can say. This book is gritty and not for the faint of heart. I absolutely loved it. A story that shows the way people really are. Bad people doing good things and good people doing bad things. Real bad things. Just great. Can't wait for the next one.

To be honest, I could not for the life of me finish this one !! I figured if the first chapters didn't grab me what would be the point...AND I also figured if there's that much violence there is sure to be more...Just not my type of book..shame on me for not reading the reviews of the book...seems it would have guided me into not downloading it...onward!!!

I finished it out of idle curiosity as to whether or not the author would discover any literary talent. He did not. The main character is two dimensional, the plot is lacking any substance and the book is peppered with random sexual encounters that are quite graphic and add nothing to the storyline. If there was a rating lower than 1 Star I would have given it.

Fairly entertaining covert-action book. Overbalanced with too much gratuitous sex. Hunter may have had more orgasms than he fired actual bullets. Attack descriptions were overdrawn and then largely erased. I will likely read another book in the series to see if there's better balance with action, sex and drug use. The plot tends to get a little lost.

Interesting plot twists reward reading to the end. The lead character has depth, complexity and skills. Other major characters are developed in some depth, which is a plus. A bit too much reliance on graphic sex for a novel in the Clancy vein. Will definitely check out the next in the series, as there is room for growth and development.

Former secret CIA agent sent in on his own to take down a cartel leader. Way to much sex and violent action with no meaning behind it, just thrown in to give the author his word count. The thought that the drug cartel could wreck so much damage on the United States is over the top. Overall, this book is way over the top and is like Fonz’s “Jump the Shark” episode.

Based on the same premise as the Jason Bourne books, bit the story is similar to how you would have expected Bourne to have been whilst still working for the government

Good start!
Over the top at times, but Hunter is a great character. I never felt the writing was preachy either. Whatever your political stance, this was just a good shoot'em up novel. Can't wait for the next one.

Not bad
I rarely read in this genre, but I have found the first two books in this series to be quite good. Quite a lot of blood and guts, but who am I to question realism. Interesting character.

Solid read with a good story
I read alot of these types of stories and this was one that was hard to put down after the first to chapters. Get through those and it's solid. Look forward to the next book if one is written.
