The Great Mistletoe Project

Rate this book
*Sweet romance - no spicy love scenes* Julie Dwyer's boss, Walter, doled out a secret assignment and also put her on a Christmas committee known as The Great Mistletoe Project. Both undertakings took her out of her comfort zone. Both would change her life forever. Garrett Turner's wife, along with his personal assistant, walked out. A multi-millionaire, the news media wanted every juicy detail of the divorce, which turned him into a recluse. In isolation, Garrett conducted business and tried to fix the deliberate mess left behind by his assistant. It got to be too much. His close friend, Walter Tennyson, suggested temporary help and sent Julie. Julie was a hard worker, normally reserved. Something in Garrett caused a different side of her to emerge. Instead of holding back, she teased and sassed him. Originally from the farm, Garrett left that world and entered real estate. He made millions, yet felt a void. Julie helped him figure out what was missing. They clashed. They laughed. They did great business together. Feelings neither one counted on, happened. And then, things fell apart thanks to the mistletoe project and Garrett's ex. Can Julie and Garrett survive the chaos?

Julie Dwyer's life is changed for good when she’s faced with uncomfortable tasks that will ultimately alter her way of life forever. It started when her boss, Walter gave her a secret project and also put her to the task of the ‘The Great Mistletoe Project.’ Enter Garrett Turner into the picture. He is newly divorced, wealthier than heck, good looking and whom petite, soft-spoken Julie is assigned to work for. When Julie first meets the debonair Mr. Turner at his elaborate mind-blowing mansion, she quickly learns he isn’t wary to be sharp toned with her and put her in her place. However; they say still waters run deep; in this case, pretty brown haired, Miss Dwyer adorned in large glasses and professional business attire can certainly hold her own, and it soon becomes clear that Garrett takes a liking to her witty, courageous yet tactful approach to handling his banter. The plot thickens, and the chemistry bubbles up between Julie and Garrett. Then a wrench gets thrown in when Garrett’s’ ex-wife enters into the thickening plot. This story is very well written with suspense, intrigue and humor mixed together. I can see Hallmark Christmas movie in the making as well as a sequel. Bravo to the talented Jan Romes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest release by Jan Romes. I’ve read several of her other titles, but this was the first Christmas book and I just loved it.

Right away, I fell in love with Julie and Garrett as they fell in love with one another and let their respective baggage convince them otherwise. Jan Romes did a wonderful job of balancing the conflicting emotions these characters battled with as they tried to make sense of unexpected and powerful feelings. I found them to be very relatable. The author also did a great job with Garrett’s impossible ex-wife. I wanted to dive into the book and punch her.

This is a very sweet feel-good story. While I read it a month before Christmas, honestly, it’s a story I’d enjoy the year ‘round.

"Getting To Break Barriers"

While getting ready for Christmas, Julie Dwyers' boss, Walter, puts her on the holiday committee called, 'The Great Mistletoe Project.' Meanwhile, workaholic Garrett Turner's wife leaves him taking his personal assistant with him from the company at which Julie works. He's in a quandary. Walter suggests he take on temporary assistant Julie. She's not what he expected since she exhibits sass and resents her constant teasing. This is a fun story to read during this holiday season. It's heartwarming and has no spicy sex scenes. It's truly cozy to keep you warm on a cold night. It's a fast read you'll enjoy!

I haven't read a romance novel in a long time. I've always loved Jan Romes' stories so I dove into this with excitement. And I wasn't disappointed. Her characters are as fresh and delightful as ever, her plot as unique and fun. Even if it's not a holiday, you won't go wrong with this book!

A sweet story!

There are some authors that have the knack to write great stories and this is one of them! This is great short read that will put be sure to put you in the Christmas spirit!

It was refreshing to see a lead female character that wasn't afraid to show her true feelings and following her heart, instead of beating around the bush to drag a story out!

Great characters filled this story with wit and charm! Throw in a money hungry ex-wife and there's the drama!

Well written and edited, sure to keep your interest!

I look forward to reading many more books by this talented author!
