The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is cyclical and sweet. We follow a few people in a busy city on their first days-- one as a holy man, another as a policeman conducting traffic, another as a plumber, and yet another as a farmer selling rice. Their stories all come together to show how people fit as a community, with everyone ending on a good first day getting their prayers and wishes answered.

A busy day in an Indian town features a group of people starting their work life, including a holy man. A young boy generously supples him with rice. Just a very respectful book of people acting nicely in a colorful place full of laughs cal color. Stock's pictures are complex and beautifully rendered.
