This book is not a how-to with ASP.NET, it's a how-to on Visual Web Developer 2005. This does not teach you a lot about the fundamentals of how to write an asp.net page, in fact it is very lacking when it comes to the technical side of things, relying almost completely on design view and point-click creation of pages.

Not for someone who actually wants to learn asp.net properly, rather than how to fake it.
