I must say I have mixed reactions to this collection of poems.
There are two parts to the book. The first part is pure advice. These are poems that could be used in an attitude training session. They are more of the “Don’t Quit” kind of poems.
Since the poems are written as advice, they appear to come from the head and not the heart. They are purely academic and not emotional.
But as her aim is Aspire to Inspire, they do their job pretty well.
There are a few of the poems which strike a chord like the one, “Get out of your own way.” It is so true that sometimes we get in the way of our own success.
But there are a lot of places where the verses do not make sense. It is just a hodgepodge of words with forced rhymes.
The second part of the book has poems more from the heart and these are bolder. They have a few lines that make you want to copy down and keep as a reminder while you go through life.
I was a little skeptical when I picked up this book as self help books need little more of patience to read and understand. Since I love poetry I thought of giving it a try.... But must say ended up feeling that this is the best book I picked up this year.
What I liked? The book is divided into 2 parts...which makes it interesting The first 48 poems are themed on leadership, dealing with various topics that inspires every person to be courageous and not lose hope. The author emphasizes the fact that One need not be a famous person to lead , but every person is a leader.... The second part of 52 poems deal with love and life It has been penned in such a way that I could not only relate to it personally but got inspired as well.
What I didn't like? There was nothing in the book for me to dislike
My verdict It's a wonderful book that inspires the reader not to get dejected and give up but to Rise like a Phoenix above the ashes and lead others...
Aspire to Inspire, it covers of polarizing poems – it covers the themes of both leadership, love and life. They are unique in their own way. It’s a must read poems where we can relate to the messages and admittedly, I was inspired and felt empowered.
That’s the power of poems. This is such a kind like a memoir or self help that I personally like because I feel that author was just telling the must-knows and aware of both large and personal.
The small personal feelings that really matters. The language and the structure used in this are very simple in style. And I am completely struck by how much it delights me and the depth of experience held within. The poems welcomes everyone as we should be in all spaces. Yeah I liked the cover, totally go with it.
I am not sure about others however I continually flourish on any sort of motivational stories, quotes and such. So for me Aspire to Inspire book by Nasreen Variyawa is a blessing. The author states that her poems are to be included in the speech and presentations by trainers or coaches. Nonetheless, I observe her work as an inspirational everyday poem to uplift oneself to boost the self-confidence.
I was mesmerized and awe-struck to perceive how powerful merely a few lines poem can be. Indeed a complex philosophical topic has been explained in a rather simple and straightforward language. For e.g, “Winning Ideas” is about watching your thoughts. She tells the readers to keep your thoughts and ideas positive to be a winner, if you have negative thoughts then you are certain to be a loser.
Nasreen Variyawa’s 100 poems are nestled under 2 topics; Leadership and In love and life; this topic has 52 poems covering a solution for every walk of life; love, laughter, parents, Gratitude, Prayer and even a simple topic like ‘Time Flies’.
Appealing Poetry writing by the author communicating a broad message in every piece of her work. A must add to your personal library that will make you re-read in all stages of your life.
