He also expresses in his own trenchant and clear style, his views on some questions of a metaphysical nature, concerned with the occult doctrine. There is much information in the book regarding the other notable figures of that time.
Damodar Mavalankar was a direct disciple of one of Blavatsky's Masters. He worked for the Theosophical Society in India for a few years, but then left for the Himalayan regions for a long retreat. In addition to the letters and articles by Damodar, the editor Sven Eek includes many detailed biographies of important Theosophists that helped Blavatsky.
