Aviation Art

by Michael Sharpe, Tim Laming

This volume is a magnificent gallery of artwork celebrating a century of aviation, from WWI to the present day. The pages evoke the thundering of a formation of B-29 Superfortresses, the frenzied chaos of a dogfight, or the majesty of the Space Shuttle. Includes over 150 color reproductions of canvases by both known and unknown artists, rendered in a number of styles, including many photo realistic paintings. Each work is accompanied by a short narrative giving historical background, biographic details of the artists, and other germane information. This book is both a treasury of art and a historical record.
