There is an elite girls club in the school that requires girls to do things as initiations that they wouldn’t ordinarily do. One of the girls is expected to steal the teacher’s grade book and when she refuses she is told to get out. The next day the teacher announces that her grade book is missing and starts to search the children’s desks. The book is found in the little girl’s desk that had refused to steal it. A member of the club who knew the girl was innocent and suspected that the club had set her up sacrificed her own membership and came to the other girls rescue by standing up for her. “The Pegasus Club and Me” is a wonderful story for girls who are between nine and twelve years old. The story is something they can relate too and the illustrator has made it appear that the story is written on the girls note book paper. The book shows the importance of friendship over popularity and is an excellent lesson in that regard. The drawings are colorful and realistic, a child will easily relate to this book.
