Aisha is ambushed by an old shaman who was sure that she was trying capture him and learn his secrets. She isn’t interested in the old legends about a dragon graveyard but after burning the secret map she is the only one who knows where it is supposed to exist and every gold hungry rogue crawls out of hiding to try and force her to take them there for riches untold.
The journey will take them across a cursed landscape brimming with foul sorceries and terrible monsters, but the promise of both treasure and revenge is irresistible.
Sowing Dragon Teeth is an action-packed heroic fantasy in the vein of classic pulp fiction and thrilling treasure hunts. If you like gory battles, larger-than-life characters, and witty humor, then you’ll love James Alderice’s gritty tale.
A story of one woman's quest for revenge against the mythic beast that skew her father but left her with the mark of dragon's blood. Her quest takes her into the woods to fight a host of different foes with questionable allies. Looking forward to the sequel.
I received an advance review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. I thought that the book was good overall. It did seem slow at times but the writing was good and the plot was interesting enough to keep me into it. I did not like this book as much as I wanted to, mainly because of the lack of character development. The character dynamics became almost predictable to me, which led to not keeping as into the story as I would liked. The story follows a character nicknamed the Iron Maiden as she goes on a quest to slay a dragon. Along the way she finds herself falling for one of her companions and faces many foes. The story ends itself nicely while also leaving room for another book, which I liked. The plot line itself was a neat idea and I enjoyed reading this book.
A lot of these books remind me of video games. That’s not a negative or positive comment; it just is. And like the perils of Pauline, we are left to buy the next book to see what happens next. It’s all very entertaining, although there are misused words and tie pasta (typos) to contend with. (l made notes as I went along in case anybody is interested.) So, if you like this kind of thing, you will like this book. lf you’re looking for anything with a deep meaning or philosophical observations, you have come to the wrong place.
So this particular book was a little out of my scope of reading, however, for whatever reason, it intrigued me. Even though epic fantasy is not my thing, I loved this one. The writing was familiar, interestingly enough. And so good. Then I got to the end and realized why: this is pen name for David West, one of my new favorite authors!
Now it all makes sense, with writing like his, you can’t go wrong, no matter what genre you venture into.
James Alderdice's protagonists are made for invincible and cunning survival. The Iron Maiden is a warrior woman pulsing with dragon's blood. You don't have to like her but then again she wouldn't care. There were so many obstacles, bad guys, freakiest demons to overcome, I should have made a list.
Im very glad I picked this up as one of the last reads for this month. The dialogue was interesting and the character were lively. The plot was good and the land was described with enough detail. It was woven so well it’s one of the few five star books I’ve read in a while. I highly recommend this for anyone who is an avid fantasy fan!
I thought it was a good read I like the world development but there was some parts of the story that just kind of threw me off. But the writing overall was very well done.
Search of this genre should look at this author and this book in general. 👍
I loved Aisha in this story. Great read for young females. The story world was epic and exciting. Highly recommend for anyone who loves unique writing and strong characters.
A rocking adventure tale featuring a dynamic heroine! Alderdice crafts some nasty surprises filled with diabolical foes, deadly traps, and lots of bloody mayhem.
