The Alpha's Perfect Ten

Rate this book
An Mpreg Shifter Romance.

Sometimes one white lie is the only thing between you and your happily ever after.

Gage Middleton wrote the book on love. Literally. As the best-selling author of Compatible Pai,r he’s living a psychologist’s dream life. With the perfect boyfriend, a new book on the horizon, a publicity tour scheduled, and a ring in his pocket, he is ready to take on the world.

And then that world crumbles when Gage’s boyfriend breaks up with him, potentially quashing the love guru’s career.

What’s a world-renowned psychologist to do? Lie, of course! One little lie to save his career while he figures out the next step in his life. What could be the harm?

Jax loves his life on the beach. His small business selling love potions and reading tarot cards make it possible for him to spend his days surfing. Sure, it’s lonely since he lost his friend to cancer, but he promised to move on.

When a stranger shows up at his door begging Jax to be on a national talk show, he finds himself saying yes when normally the answer would be anything but. One afternoon. What could be the harm?

Gage and Jax clearly don’t belong together. But that doesn’t stop the sizzling attraction between them. Besides, Gage knows Jax doesn’t fit the compatibility scale he wrote about in his book--and Jax is certain Gage’s heart belongs to someone else.

Thankfully, there is a little magic waiting for them in the wings. But magic can only do so much. The rest is up to them.

The Alpha’s Perfect Ten is an M/M super sweet with knotty heat non-shifter Mpreg romance featuring an alpha who thinks love comes second to statistics, an omega who believes that love is pure magic, a fairy godfather or two, and a connection from both their pasts that binds it all together.

When Gage's perfect life crumbles before his eyes, he hides the frustration, and the truth, from everyone. Except he finds himself on a controversial TV show with an enigmatic, captivating surfer/wizard that challenges everything he's come to believe. Jax is intrigued by the irritating, gorgeous alpha. Being set up on three dates with the confusingly wonderful man under the guise of observing a couple who could disprove both of their theories is throwing him into unsettling feelings. With the cryptic and meddling interference of some rather magical characters both men will find the truth of love and life. But only if they can relinquish their tight hold on pride and secrecy.

Gage sure knew how to push all the wrong buttons for me right from the start. But instead of staying annoyed at him, I was increasingly curious as to what made him the way he was, why he pursued The Factors so relentlessly. His arrogant obliviousness was grating, but with George's exodus and Jax's introduction, his eyes and heart were slowly opening to things and feelings he suppressed for most of his life. The way he grew, softened, and became the man he was always meant to be was really sweet. Though I will say that it took him most of the book before finally getting a handle on it all and to really change his tune.

Jax on the other hand was already at peace with who he is and his place in life. What he was missing was a partner. While he never would have chosen the stuffy Gage, they really became the best partners for one another. His character seemed to change a bit in the face of his insecurity though. I was hoping he would find a more "mature" balance to his new-age life, but instead he became a bit juvenile in his emotional angst. It was like reading a high-schooler's thoughts. He found himself again, though, when Gage came around and embraced the relationship in its entirety.

The magic aspect was nothing like what you think it will be. Synopses can sometimes be vague, but the wording for this one was more misleading than anything. Not to say the elements were bad, inappropriate, or ineffective, not at all. It's just a bit of a jarring moment when you realize what the direction of the magic is actually taking. Magical interference led both men to a weird yet sweet resolution that left the story on a high note with good feelings. It came full circle with a satisfactory evolution for the individuals and a wonderfully tender relationship.

This was a short but entertaining read. I really enjoyed reading about Gage and Jax. This was a mix of romance/paranormal/Mpreg Non-Shifter. Written as a multi pov in first person. The MPreg portion didn't come into play until the very end of the book.

Gage and Jax are total opposites. Gage is a writer/psychologist and Jax is a surfer/love potion maker guru. Jax is far from Gage's perfect ten, or so he thinks.

I wasn't able to become emotionally attached to these characters, but they were entertaining to read. Nice story line, good description to detail, and easy to follow dialogue.

All in all, a good read.

This was amazing. I couldn't get enough of these two brilliant characters. Jax and Gage couldn't be more different if they tried, but sometimes opposites attract. Jax's character shines out of the pages to you, he is quite the gifted one not just in life but in his personality. He is so beautiful inside and out. Gage seems so stuffy but sometimes he shines a little but then he clams up again.
They both have found different beliefs and ways for life. But they don't realise it but their lives are about to take quite the earthquake they both so desperately need.
This is an amazing book, that needs to be expiranced and enjoyed because just wow it was quite the journey. Definitely one everyone needs to enjoy aswell. Grab this book asap you won't regret it.

I found the beginning of this book really confusing. Once I got through the first few chapters I could at least follow the story a bit better, but it was still rather meh. I didn't quite feel the connection between Jax and Gage, not just because they are so different but they just didn't seem to fit at the beginning. I really didn't like how long Gage kept the fact he was single from Jax, it became way more than just a lie of omission. Although I did like the ending (I think it sort of saves the story overall), I had a lot of trouble with the beginning and Gage's attitude during the story.

Gage thinks he knows what makes a perfect relationship, he even thinks he has it with his "perfect 10" match of a boyfriend... until said boyfriend dumps him and Gage sees how his career may be in trouble. Then he meets the spell spinning Jax and all of his theories get tested. With a little magic and a lot of attraction, these two guys find love.. and to this reader its perfection!.

I love Gage and Jax... they are great characters with a story filled with sweet moments, a bunch of feels and some sexy heat. A quick and satisfying read that tells of the magic of love.

Gage is a scientific thinker. A well known author and psychologist, he believes love is made of factors and his boyfriend is a perfect ten...until he isn't. Breaking up with Gage his boyfriend leaves him in the dust just as he is about to be on a tv show. Jax is a wizard. Using his magic he does enough potions and spells to keep his debts paid and him out on the waves surfboarding. Neither knows that magic is working to get them what they need and that could be each other...or not depending on their own insecurities and secrets. A book worth reading with love and magic and tons of angst. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

This is an interesting and quirky story but unfortunately it's only an okay read for me. I like the storyline because it is very different and intriguing with the addition of magic and fairy godfathers. It took me quite a while to figure out what was happening in the beginning and the story was difficult to follow at times. The characters are a bit odd but I like Jax quite a bit even though I don't like Gage at all. The lack of connection and chemistry between them bothers me as well as how long it took for Gage to tell Jax the truth about his boyfriend dumping him. Overall I want to love this book but it just isn't for me.

I have to say that while I enjoyed this it wasn't one of my favorites by this author. It was a little difficult for me to really get into. That said, there were quite a few funny moments in this story. This was different with Fairy Godfathers, reading of auras, numbers to fall in love with.

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

Fun and flirty book about two seeminly very opposite people. Jax and Gage have instant chemistry and are thrown together despite what they think they want. I liked the way they connected and found common ground.

No.

I love the Lorelei team of writers. I don't know if I have ever been disappointed with a book. This is honestly a hard review to do because I love their books. I had such a hard time following this at the beginning, I didn't really want to finish it, I did. I stick through to the end. Barely. I don't know what it was with this one, but it did not capture me like the others. I hate the alpha Gage immeditaly and he never redeemed himself. Same with Jax the omega. I don't know. It was just a no for me.
