Manger and Roccella present an book packed with information on how to improve your health and encourage longevity by adopting healthy lifestyle choices. I have taught a university class on the biology of aging, and this contains a lot of similar advice. Although it's never too late to improve your health by making healthy choices, I would recommend this book for high school seniors or first-year college students as a way to encourage them to establish strong health habits.

As someone who has been reading about healthy lifestyle choices for decades, much of this was a review, which is why I'm recommending it to younger people (or to people who avoid learning about healthy habits).

It's literally VITAL for people to know this information. It would be a great book for high school graduates.

The book contains the following chapters:

1. Overweight and Obesity
2. Best Eating Plan
3. Physical Inactivity
4. Salt
5. Alcohol
6. Tobacco
7. Drugs--Illicit, Prescription, Over-the-Counter, Conterfeit
8. Blood and Sexually Transmitted Diseases
9. Stress and Insomnia
10. Health Emergencies / Urgencies
11. Injuries and Fatalities
12. Inadequate Prevention
13. Environmental Hazards

This book is very informative. It has made me think more about my lifestyle. Since reading this, I have now started exercising and eating more healthy. I am also trying to quit smoking too - even though I already know the obvious dangers of smoking, eating unhealthy and lack of exercise, this book opens your eyes more to those dangers. Apart from those I have mentioned, this book covers other subjects that could be changed or taken into consideration to better your life. This is a book that I will be keeping close by, one that i will be reading through often. I highly recommend it.
