Rate this book
When wealthy, bossy, arrogant Delisa Winston discovers Nicky Gates, the man she just married as part of a business arrangement, is a woman pretending to be a man, she loses it, starting their marriage with a bang.

Nicholas/Nicolette Gates, a business person with varied tastes in women, mistakenly thinks that since Delisa is a lesbian, she’ll appreciate the revelation that she is gay as well.

Both parties think that they will continue on as before their marriage, dating who they want and enjoying the rewards of their merger. However, Nicky’s disclosure to Delisa has opened a whole new can of worms…and feelings.

Now it’s a question of what to do with the information Nicolette revealed to Delisa. Can the two women keep it a secret until they figure out what to do? Will they manage to stay married and keep their secret? If the secret gets out, what will happen to Nicolette and her company’s merger with Delisa? What will happen to Delisa’s companies and is she culpable? Do the women have a future together?

I’m a creator of romance who lost my way. I’m a dream weaver trapped in a world of useless information, bottom lines and bean counters. In short, I’m a writer. I pen novels of love, adventure and humor with African American lesbians as main characters.

I love writing and reading books. I’m a trivia buff and a movie freak. Just ask me and I’ll go see a movie, any movie at the drop of a hat. I’m crazy about my car. It’s a 15-year old VW convertible. Guess I like classic dependable things. I should mention I’m a curious sort too. I want to see, feel and experience as much as I can before I die and I plan on living a long time. My people live into their late nineties to over hundred and five.

Loved the initial premise couldn’t get with the execution in totality

This was an intense story line however I felt the book lacked structure. On the same page we could travel days, and the next chapter weeks without any prompt of where we were or how we arrived. Yes, certain portions you may have taken a few pages and then the reader finds how we got there but it made for some tiresome reading as I tried to connect the dots. Several times I reread sections because it didn’t connect and if and when it did it was far reaching.

I felt the flow could have been better, build up and reasoning. The story just kept going, and then you added the chapters with bodyguards and I wonder if they should have had their own story but not as long as was given. I wondered where that storyline came from and why we had to take so much time with them. They were minor in respect to the whole story until that point.

Overall, I thought you could have two really good books here, maybe even three. Eleanor and her suitors, Dee and Nicky, and the guys. You did well with Elenors story mixing with her daughters. Also created good “WTF” moments with Dee and her responses to life with Nicky and Sandra which seemed fitting for her flightiness. I also feel you didn’t finalize the story of Sandra, it seemed as if she wanted to hurt Nicky by setting her up with the Lawyer. However, I always thought more would come of this, not just going to talk to her when Dee split from Sandra. Did Sandra cause Nicky to lose in all of the settlements? Other than Sandra realizing she didn’t like babies, where is her happiness at causing them pain. This all seemed to be left by the wayside and left a story lacking cohesion in some places.

I observed no set theme for this story and that could be the reason for so much issue for me. You made such a fuss about Nicky being a man and the arrangement of marriage, I felt you could have gone deeper into the why. Explaining whether or not they wanted to be trans (which I believe they didn’t) it just could have been explored more.

Nicely Surprised

I was pleasantly surprised, I thought that the cover looked interesting so I decided to check it out. I am so glad that I did, great job Miss Wilson. I love that you write stories about us that shows we can be romantic too. They were perfect for each other and once the family expanded the book got even better. I highly recommend this book. Keep up the excellent work! 🌈💖👊

Bestest Book Ever!

This book took my breath away. Lisa was sooooo controlling, she scared herself over, and over. Nicky was so great for Delisa, she kept her patience under control as she thought. Nicky knew who she wanted to spend her life with, and refused to let Delisa take control...again. I HOPE this one has a sequel, I’m interested in the other couples,,,happily ever after!

Interesting

This is an interesting love story with Nicolette and Delisa. To me, sometime the story seemed to go on forever. My favorite character was Nicolette. Her love was so strong. Delisa just sometime came across as mean and heartless. In the end, I loved Delisa as well. This is a great set of characters and a nice ending.
