Understanding, Treating and Preventing Anxiety: Self-Help for Wildebeests

Rate this book
Anxiety is not just about worrying. There are many different causes and types of anxiety, and we need to know which type we’re dealing with in order to apply the right techniques to treat it.

This self-help book introduces six different categories of anxiety-busting techniques and describes several methods within each category. There are 35 self-help exercises in the book to help you build your arsenal of anxiety-busting weapons.

The book will teach you to diagnose your anxiety in a methodical, logical and targeted way. You will be able to identify the real cause of a bout of anxiety and know the techniques that will fix it. You’ll learn the reasons why you are more prone to anxiety than the next person and apply the right kind of technique to reducing that proneness. And you will learn to avoid a lot of anxiety altogether, by developing healthy habits, recognising the warning signs and dealing with them before they lead to the kind of misery that anxiety can cause.

Yvonne Bates has over a quarter of a century’s experience as a person-centred therapist and has helped many clients who suffer with anxiety. She has also struggled with anxiety herself for most of her life and so has a unique understanding of this frustrating, exhausting and sometimes crippling condition.
