Writing is an important skill that kids use almost every day. The goal of the Write it Right series is to make kids writing experts. Writing a Journal is full of tips and tricks to help kids create a thoughtful journal entry, from sorting through your feelings to visualizing your dreams. This book includes a table of contents, glossary, index, author biography, activities, and instructions.
This was one of two "how to journal" books for children at my local library. It is a short book: only 22 pages of journaling how-to's and inspiration. I most appreciate that it gives ideas for what children might want to write about (for example place, event, feelings, opinion). The activities and lists to help children choose what to write about is a building block to editing later which I appreciate when working with adult writers and journalers.
