No me avergüenzo

Rate this book

David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a Welsh Protestant minister, preacher and medical doctor who was influential in the Reformed wing of the British evangelical movement in the 20th century. For almost 30 years, he was the minister of Westminster Chapel in London. Lloyd-Jones was strongly opposed to Liberal Christianity, which had become a part of many Christian denominations; he regarded it as aberrant. He disagreed with the broad church approach and encouraged evangelical Christians (particularly Anglicans) to leave their existing denominations. He believed that true Christian fellowship was possible only amongst those who shared common convictions regarding the nature of the faith.

David Martyn Lloyd-Jones was married to Bethan Lloyd-Jones

I have never been let down on reading Martyn Lloyd-Jones. Wonderful preaching at its finest. In 1964 Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones preached a serries on 2 Timothy 1-12. This serries lasted eleven weeks as Martyn expounded this text which incorporated, The problem of life, real Christianity, the right diagnosis, who is man, Christ our saviour, God's unchanging purpose, God's way of redemption, abundant life, delivered from fear, That day and Persuaded. I would recommend this book to everyone as it touched me when he started expounding on the fact that man is a soul and the problems of the world comes down to the fact that we don't realise this about ourselves. Excellent book.

In this series of 11 sermons (originally delivered in 1964), Lloyd-Jones explores some of Paul’s final words to Timothy and explains how they encourage both him and all of its other readers down through the ages. The core of Paul’s message is his unshakeable confidence in the person and work of Christ. He reminds us that no one can enjoy the comforts of Christianity until they have placed their faith in the One who provides them.
