Mending Fences

Rate this book
MMF Bisexual Romance.

Jackson

A rolling stone, a jilted bride, and a carpenter who swings both ways walk into a house off the beaten path.

Sounds like a joke waiting to happen, and it feels like one, too. Jackson has no clue why his late grandmother left her house to three people, but now they’re in competition. He plans to win the property by any means necessary. The only thing in his way? Crazy sexy chemistry.

Reba

Reba wants to hate him, but her body won’t let that happen. As they discover clues that bring them closer to a big pay-off, she can’t quit…walking away is hard to do when the game feels this good.

David

David never imagined he’d fall in love. But, with stakes this high, he must choose between securing his future and getting the consolation prize. Should he go for the gold or go with his heart?

There can only be one winner.

Mending Fences is a smoking hot Bisexual / Menage MMF romance with some VERY steamy scenes, a rural setting on a sprawling plantation, and a HEA ending with no cliffhangers!

Mixed feelings on this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really wanted to like this book more but there was something about it that just annoys me. That something was Reba.
This book started out wonderfully with a very interesting plot. I love the guys and their hot interaction and connection. Definitely loaded with heat! But when Reba showed up on the scene, I took an instant dislike to her.
She was rude and I didn’t care for her attitude. Then there came a time in the story when the guys decided to take it to the next level. It was abrupt and it just didn’t feel natural.
There was a couple of other areas in the story that just felt kind of weird and I really hated a lot of the jumping to conclusions and the issues that created. The ending was definitely different. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it was just odd and I would’ve been pissed off in a huge way.
Overall, I loved the connection between the guys and towards the middle Reba was getting less on my nerves and I enjoyed her interaction on the pretty smokin ménage situations.
For the most part the hot sex made this book for me. The rest of the story was good but not overly remarkable.
Three strangers forced together in battle to determine who would get ownership of Ms. Agatha’s plantation. Jackson, her grandson, David, her handyman, and Reba, a young woman who would come spend time with her. As they all come to the house, they find out they each received letters from her stating they had ownership in the house. It turns out Agatha created a scavenger hunt type of game to determine who would walk away as the owner. Each one has strong opinions as to why they should get the house.
Each task is based on a specific person and has them reflecting on issues from their past that has had a lasting hurt. We see them come together and begin to lean on each other. Opening up to each other. They also form a lot more than friendship. The three cannot keep their hands off each other, which lead to some, scratch that, a lot of very steamy ménage scenes.
You have to pick up a copy to see what happens when the scavenger hunt is over. Who ends up the winner? What happens to the two who lose? Was the relationship part of the game or is it real?
This is an interesting read. Definitely not a storyline I’ve read before. It wasn’t my favorite book from Nicole, but it worked, I kept reading wanting to know what was going to happen next. To see who was going to win and if that win was going to give them the joy and happiness they were looking for. I did love the growth each person went through in their journey. I started out really not liking a particular character, but that changed as the book progressed.
I love Nicole's books, so was super excited to read Mending Fences.
It was a storyline i have not read before, so i was intrigued right from the start.
David and Jackson, so right, good chemistry, natural flirty vibe between them. I felt i was definately going to enjoy this book, based on these 2 leading men, but then " Reba" turned up and i did not like her. Not. One. Bit. I just didn't understand who she was, i felt her presence was a little awkward, forced. But Reba was just a tiny glich in a fabulous book.
The scavenger hunt was a genius idea for a storyline, loved it. The saga of mis-communication and mis-understanding is always a good story, and i enjoy the unknown of will they, won't they especially when there is more than just the standard M / F relationship going on. And i just couldn't get enough of David and Jacksons interactions!
GG, so naughty! but i loved her character, even though she wasn't really in it that much. I tried really hard to get on with Reba, but i ended up replacing her in my head with a character from another book, and that made it so much easier and ended up being a great read in the end, one i would recommend.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I liked the book, but the chemistry between the three of them was not as good. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the sex wasn’t hot between them because it was definitely hot! It just lacked connection. Reba kind of felt like an afterthought at first. A quote from David’s mind, “The intensity of his lust (for Reba) confused him. He understood his attraction to Jackson (because he had mostly been with men). He even understood Jackson’s attraction to Reba (because he had only been with women). But what the h*ll did it mean when the three of them seemed to be attracted to each other?”
I loved David, I liked Jackson and Reba just annoyed me. I think I would have liked the book better if it was just a MM book. All Reba added to the story was a bunch of unnecessary drama (IMO). The story played out just like I thought it would. I even figured out the ending before I read it. There is a HEA with no cliffhanger.
Reba was a bit much right from the start. How could she assume the house was hers over a grandson?? Ridiculous girl. She was overconfident and shrewishly pushy. Why was she so greedy for a house? I didn't like greedy Reba's character. I would have preferred Jackson and David as a couple, and Reba could be on the outside looking in. She didn't add anything to the relationship IMO. They didn't need her biotch style. She was all wild bravado one minute, and then she flipped to poor vulnerable me the next- pick a side and stay there girl. You give me whiplash! I thought I couldn't dislike Reba anymore, but I was wrong. Reba's eavesdropping and legal actions were very disappointing. I suspected the twist at the end, and it was sweet, but I still feel Jackson and David were better as a couple not a thruple, and definitely not with cray cray Reba.
When three strangers are thrown together when a mutual loved one leaves them all her house, the strangers become so much more. Jackson, Reba and David all want the plantation home that Jackson's grandmother has left to all of them. In order to figure out the true owner the three are taken on a wild ride of tasks, understanding your demons and finding true love. But in the end can three strangers figure out the true meaning behind the ordeal and find their HEA? Or are they doomed to not only lose the house but connections they had made? Nicole Stewart has a way of hooking the reader in from the opening pages and are taken on an emotional journey. This was a fabulous read filled with wonderful characters and hot as hell sex scenes.
Nicole Stewart always writes a great MFM book... always! Seems like I've been reading and on her ARC team forever, and I'm still always intrigued.
Jackson, Reba, and David... this story took a few twists I never expected; made it fun! Was fun they visited places I familiar with. When reading Stewards books, I always wonder how many people are really into ménage relationships? Someone wrote this book wasn't plausible... maybe not; but I enjoyed it all the same. I always know that when I pick up a Stewart book, I will have an enjoyable read, characters will be well developed and at the end I'll be looking forward to the next one. Haven't read Nicole Stewart, pick up one today; I think you'll be happy you did. Plenty of her books on KU, so don't let cost hold you back!
They try to get ahold of the attorney who is out of town to get clarification of the will and what was David's Grandma thinking about when she did the will apparently all three of them has a stake in the property. Reba, Jackson and David takes it to the next level and it gets Hot. they suddenly realize that they have finished the house and the attorney appears and adds more to the mix and A huge Surprise! I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I'm a longtime reader of Nicole Stewart and enjoy her books. Maybe it's just me, but I'm feeling the characters are becoming a bit predictable and uninteresting. Jackson, David, and Reba are way too similar to previous characters...an aloof one, an open one, and the girl. Yes, the storyline is different and intriguing and certainly a fast paced read. But, the last few reads from Nicole have felt to me like the female lead is just a bystander or an after thought in the relationship and this felt the same. I'm looking forward to the next book and hope for something different.
I have been reading Ms. Stewart's books for quite a while now and had the pleasure of reading her labors of love. Seeing the evolution of her writing has been pretty amazing. She's always had talent but it's more refined and polished.
Not sure which of the lost souls I liked more, maybe Reba for her spunkiness and for fighting for what she wants after she realizes what it is.
Jackson had some deep wounds that needed to be healed by love and David was the calm to their storms.
It's been a while since I've read one of her books and so glad she finally released a new one. Looking forward to see what she comes up with next.
Three strangers come together to compete to win a house. Jackson, David and Reba all believe they have inherited a home however they have to go on a scavenger hunt to find out who the winner is. I have mixed fillings on this book. I loved Jackson and David but had a hard time liking Reba and wondering where she fit into the story. At times the story felt rushed and I would have liked more on Jackson thoughts of being with another man for the first time. Of course the sex scenes were amazing and I would recommend to read just to get to know Jackson and David. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this MMF story by Nicole Stewart. It was steamy -- yes it sure was. But it was more than that. 3 people forced to "compete" for a home. Jackson is the grandson, Reba is a friend and David is the handyman. They have absolutely nothing in common except the desire to own the house they each thing belongs to them. However, the competition brings out maybe the best in them and they soon find themselves looking inward more than outward, and their relationship becomes more than just the physical...at least for some of them. A few surprises kept me reading until I was done.
I recieved this book as an (ARC) for an honest review. I liked this book. Its very well written. Although I feel the sex was rushed and not realistic. Although I do know people jump into bed with each other on the first day they meet its not something that I like. The sex was hot, the relationship between the 3 is sweet. Especially between the 2 men. The ending caught me completley off guard. I gave this book 4 stars because it kept me sucked in. I was intereated the entire time I was reading it.
I had tge opportunity to read an ARC. Enjoyable mmf romance. Three lost souls end up competeing to inherit a run dowm mansion. I liked the twists and the gradual reveal of the backstory of each character. Their relationship is not all p,ain sailing, and i thought the realisation by Jackson that he bisexual was handled well. The eventual threesome relationship and sex is hot, and pays off tge build up. Would read again. I think is the best novel from Nicole Stewart so far.
I loved this book. Everything I have read by Nicole Stewart has not disappointed me . The 3 main characters are easy to love and the chemistry is HOT, HOT. Jackson seems a little stand offish at first but that man has some passion. Reba wears her heart on her sleeve and just wants to be accepted and loved. David is a sweetheart and is extremely capable of keeping these 2 happy. It is a must read.
A story with characters I quickly grew attached to and the perfect amount of push and pull to keep me on my toes. Jackson, Reba and David all have strong hearts with some cracks and pain. Thrown into this situation, things click. I loved the journey they shared. It's fun, sweet, steamy with an old gorgeous house as a character as well. A great read.
Mending fences
This book was a great read. As always you are a genius as a writer. Reba, David and Jackson each had their demons to conquer to be able to love each other. The whole storyline was absolutely incredible. How about GG? Nice surprise Nicole, it made the story even more sweeter. Thanks for an incredible read!
At 45% I decided I didn't care to finish it. As far as grammar and punctuation, it was pretty well written. Its failing came concerning three people who had never done ménage, they seemed to jump into it without much forethought or introspection. The characters just seemed shallow and two-dimensional.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This book had me intrigued for the onset. It did take some time to realize that all the characters involved, Jackson Agatha’s grandson, David her handyman & Reba her beloved young friend are all actually on journeys to self discovery themselves in their own lives. Having read numerous of her books and being a fan of Nicole Stewart I knew I wouldn’t be let down. Rest assured I wasn’t!
Their tale of coming together was filled with unbelievable hot passion. First between Jackson & David then between all three while they find themselves on a scavenger Agatha has left the winner of the hunt her old manor house and with it comes the chance to start their lives over. Along the way they not only find hot passion in each other’s arms but also find self discovery in themselves and each other. Is it enough to find lasting love in each other? Is the passion they find in each other’s arms and the security they find among the walls of Agatha’s old manor house enough to last? You’ll have to read Mending Fences by Nicole Stewart to find out!
I love the way Nicole brings stories to life. Three people totally different circumstances all end up in one house trying to figure out why. Little did they know the reason wasn’t important but the connection they make would be.
Electricity right from the start. A misunderstanding started their first meeting. A series of hunts/tasks have David & Reba opening up. Jackson is a bit harder to open up.
I really enjoyed this story of self discovery and open mindedness.
