Quite possibly one of the worst books I ever tried to read. I stuck it out for about half of the book and then read the last totally predictable chapter. The author had about five ideas and he repeated them over and over and over. As an American who spent 6 weeks in Liverpool I found the dialogue ridiculous (and also terribly repetitive) and the picture of Scousers insulting - it perpetuates the worst myths of this town and its people. On top of everything, it wasn't even a good footie book!

Lots of characters introduced very very quickly which made this tricky to follow from the off. The dialogue is also tricky to read and follow if you arent from Liverpool. Usually I get used to it but couldnt here. Felt more like this shouldve been a children's book but with the strong language and dodgy content, isnt suitable. Crass language throughout.

This book is so funny. You become invested in the main Character, hoping he takes the right path. Its about friendship and camaraderie, and has a feel good factor. Loved the book, had me laughing from the start.
