This book is just so silly.

Let’s take our hero. We first see him dealing blackjack at the Xanadu in Vegas. Ok. Sounds like a typical bestseller hero. It’s no surprise when we have the big scene where the old military guy tries to get him back because somebody has stolen a load of plutonium and out of all the FBI and CIA and Nuclear Regulatory Commission spies and investigators, he’s the only genius who can figure out who the villain is and what he is up to. But did we have to make our hero a priest too?

After we get through the initial silly, we move into average stupid thriller plot. You know, the one that features a jealous slimy CIA guy, sexy Mossad agents, religious fanatics, body builders, and the Pope. The Naked Gun folks would have a blast writing a script from this, given the delicate mix between cliches and unique idiocies. The lunacy here doesn’t really date.

This book isn’t good. But it does entertain.
