The Project #18

The Black Templar

Rate this book
The Project is in transition, their future in doubt. Selena Connor is no longer part of the active field unit, and she misses the action and excitement. When she's approached to translate a thirteenth century Templar document written in code, she jumps at the chance. The document reveals a clue to the location of the legendary Templar treasure, lost for seven hundred years.

Selena and Nick Carter follow the clue to Portugal. They think they'll get in a little vacation time, while they search for something to tell them what happened to the treasure. But the vacation turns into a nightmare and launches the Project team on a deadly race against time. There's something evil hidden with the gold. If the Project can't prevent it from falling into the hands of the Black Templars, a terrible darkness will descend upon the world.

Can they succeed against the odds?

I like Barbados rum, old, fast motorcycles, playing guitar and books by authors like Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Alex Berenson, Craig Johnson and Lee Child. I write action/adventure thrillers. WHITE JADE is the first in a series featuring the PROJECT, a small, elite counter-terrorism unit. There are currently 23 books in the series.

The project has ended but hopefully can be revived in the future

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the other 17 in the series. I would like to something clever and witty, however I keep coming back to these books have been a great read, never boring and have helped a frequent traveller enjoy the series. I would like to thank Mr Lukeman for his company over the years and look forward to his next series of books.

Happy, Happy New Year ……from Alex Lukeman. This is the 18th Book in the Project Series and my heart races and palms sweat just like when I began this series in 2012 with White Jade. We have come a long way together, Me, the team and the author!

From the moment I read the first, I was a goner! Stories that are right up my alley with special ops, interesting places, fabulous storylines, tons of action, suspense ….has it all.

Last years I sensed a change…..President Rice was no longer President, the new group in office were a different breed. Where the project story went had me as horrified as reading the daily newspaper….but I could sense there was ‘something’ in the air. I cannot decide if this is the last I will read of this series…….or this group….. because our author has left us with a possible maybe……..

But if you have never started this series….please be introduced to the baddest kick assed team imaginable……Elizabeth Harker in charge, Stephanie our computer guru extroidinaire, and our band of fighters, Seleana Connor, Nick Carter, and our two worn out brothers Ronnie and Lamont….The addition to the team was Selena’s sister and for now we can hope they can’t live happily ever !!!!! and are bored to tears and continue the idea of a new venture….. I can hope . Thank you Mr Lukeman in your brilliance and we hope to see you again soon.

“The Black Templar” is the 18th entry in Alex Lukeman’s popular Project series. I've enjoyed every one of the Project books; certainly, some stories were better than others, but all were still a good read and a delightful escape. Sadly, this one was weaker that some of the others, but the plot still moved the series forward and was enjoyable.

In “The Black Templar,” the President Danny Davis’ term is up. A new President and the Project is disbanded ~ their future in doubt. Selena translates an old manuscript which reveals a clue to the lost Templar treasurer. Their home is invaded; the friends from the Project come together. As the plot thickens, the Black Templars, an evil offshoot from the Templar group, enters the scene to find an ancient text.

Lukeman's fast-moving plots make a good read, but even more so, I actually "like" the characters ~ I care about them ~ I enjoy watching their growth and evolution during this series. If you are looking for a new series to try, I would certainly recommend Lukeman's series. However, I strongly suggest that you begin with the first book so you can appreciate the character development more.

I have to say I'm wondering if I read the same book as those who gave it 4 or 5 stars. I actually debated whether to give it 2 or 3 stars, and opted for the more generous rating, just to be nice. The plot was simplistic at best and the dialogue was uninspired. The characters were OK, but oh-so-PC: we have men, women, black, white, American Indian. The Russian defector, supposedly savvy in the ways of Russian/American espionage, was exceedingly irritating in her constant queries about the meanings of American slang. The Russian equivalents to the American intelligence community were illiterate, predictable thugs, no match for their U.S. counterparts. And the ending was unsatisfying, as the stated goal (which involved the Knights Templar and actually COULD have been interesting) was more or less abandoned. I plodded my way through this book, but I doubt I'll be reading anything else by this author.

Sacrifices, demons, traitors!

The Project Team has been shut down. Selena has been asked to translate a Knight Templar document. The document is in code, and Selena asks Freddie, AI computer, to help her translate it. The document gives hints of where the Knights Templar have hidden their treasure. Onward to find the treasure of gold, jewels, and a relic. The relic must not get into the hands of evil. Alex Lukeman writes compellingly to keep your attention to see what will happen next. I highly recommend this book. Happy reading! 😊

The Black Templar Alex Lukeman

The Project, a highly clandestine unit that works only for Potus has been disbanded. Now reformed but still working out kinks. The new unit has been tasked with locating a secret artifact in Templar lore. Along the way a mole is discovered who must be identified. Quickly. This is a highly suspenseful action packed thriller. Enjoyed immensely!

The black templar

Fantastic a nd exciting read, I really enjoyed the history of the Templars. As always the team is the best and hopefully will always remain . Looking forward to another great adventure, and please do not retire this series, there are plenty of places who still need the team's help

Good but not great and I certainly don't like being left
hanging at the end. The only good thing about that is there
will have to be a Project 19. Great series but it does seem
to be winding down.

The Project series has been a fun ride, but IMO it has run its course. Kudos to Alex Lukeman, not only for the creativity and captivating stories, but also for knowing when it's time to move on.

If the author starts another series, I'll be first in line.

Templar treasure, a vacation in Portugal while they search for it. A good intruding plot, with .Selina and Nick jumping at the chance to go.

It was a good way to wind up the series. I’ll miss the characters, but I think they all deserve a good vacation.

The Project has ended everybody has gone their own way, Selena and Nick have twins to keep them busy. But when Selena is asked to translate some old pages she realizes how much she misses the people and the work, So they decide to get the team together to do consulting work, the kind of work you don't get shot as doing. But director Harker gives them a offer that is hard to turn down, but it could happen.

Full disclosure I have been sitting on this book for quite some time thinking it might be the last but I know now there are two more and I am so happy. I have come to think of these people as family. These books are so wonderful just the right amount of action and suspense to make a fiction book sound very real. If you are lucky enough to get the audio narrated by the wonderful Jack de Golia than you might have thought you actually did go into action with the team and help them like Freddy does. Jack de Golia and Alex Lukeman make a awesome team and the audio is not to be missed but which ever format you prefer I think you will like this series, and might even learn a bit of history.

The Project Team has broken up and Nick and Selena are raising their family. Selena is asked to translate some old manuscript that could give a clue to a lost Templar treasurer. They go to a place to look for clues and are attacked. They know where to go and enlist the help of Selena's sister and are attacked on the island, because the Russian's want her back. They decide against going for more. Adam, contacts Nick and tells him he must find the Templar Artifact to save the world. Nick and some of the team go to find it. It is a good book and I am not sure where the author is going with the series. I thought after the last book, it was done.
