Nika Michelle and Racquel Williams take reader to the island paradise of Jamaica to experience major drama with a dash of tropical flavor.
When Yankee gyal Kadijah visits the beautiful island of Jamaica with her friends Nicole and Tamia, she does not expect the events that follow. After a nasty breakup with her two-timing ex and her graduation from culinary arts school, all she wants to do is unwind and maybe have a one-night stand. However, when she meets Omari, the sexy rude boy turned DJ, things heat up quickly. Once Omari locks eyes with Kadijah, his life will never be the same and he knows it. He is feeling the feisty American beauty, but his wife, the beautiful but fiery Angela, is having no parts of it. She will stop at nothing to make sure that no woman takes her husband away from her--especially not some Yankee.
Kadijah and her friends travel to Jamaica, in hopes of getting over a bad breakup and celebrate her recent graduation from culinary school. What she didn't expect, was meeting Omari, a local DJ. Sparks fly and things seem to be going well, until secrets are revealed.
I read this book in acknowledgement of Caribbean American Heritage Month. It has great potential, but lost some of it's flare with the excessive use of the *B* word.
I've seen this book so many times before and never picked it up. My friends recommended it to me and it did not disappoint. No drug dealer lifestyle, normal people with just enough drama and love.
I really enjoyed this book. Angela the wife of Omari was evil as hell to say the least. Karma a bitch, she and her husband's best friend and got what they deserved, jail!
It was an okay book. It kept me entertained briefly!! When it picked up toward the end I began to enjoy it and it was over. I think it could have been written better.
