Not sure why I got this as there’s no budgie pattern lol but I do like the shaggy look many of these projects have. They make it seem so easy.... and I end up with fluff everywhere lol

-3 stars. warning **requires needle felting tools and felting wool/wool roving**.

you can make your own pompom maker out of cardboard (it shows you how), but you'll have to buy the needle felting stuff. i'm just not willing to acquire supplies for a whole new hobby and then learn that new hobby. needless to say i was very disappointed that every pattern requires felting.

the book contains instructions for using various types of pompom makers and cardboard homemade pompom makers. there are lots of nice color pictures detailing the instructions.

-contains patterns for: monkey, dog, fox, bunny, panda, mouse, owl, brown bear, cat, lovebirds, teddy bear, hedgehog, koala bear, seal pup, pufferfish, hamster, spider, robin, sheep, chicken and chick, bumblebee, ladybird, caterpillar, turtle, snail, squirrel, penguin, toucan, dolphin, pig, duck and duckling, hummingbird, crab and hermit crab, ostrich.

I think that the pompoms are cute but most of them look very amateurish and not quite what I was looking for. Maybe better for someone starting out or for kids, but not my speed. You do have to needle felt a number of the pieces (ears, tails, etc.) so that may be more challenging for younger crafters. A few of the patterns were cute: bumble bees, birds. But not enough for me to want to invest in the book for the future. Glad I took it out from my local library.

I'm mildly obsessed with making pompom animals now, to my own and others' delight! These are so adorable and fun. I'm still learning how to shape the various different faces but am definitely getting better with each critter I make. This book is so delightful I got my own copy. Making pompom animals is my go-to activity now when I'm watching TV or need something to do with my hands.

Cute ideas which combine needle felting with pompom making. Beads also required for these projects. Can use felt instead of some of the felting. For intermediate crafters.
