I'm Carina Axelsson, author of the MODEL UNDER COVER and ROYAL REBEL book series.

Model Under Cover stars sixteen-year-old fashion detective, Axelle Anderson, and combines three of my favourite things: mystery, fashion and, of course, romance!

My love of detective fiction inspired me to write the series, and my experience as a former fashion model has inspired many of the scenes in the book. When I first showed my daughter the cover of this book, and asked if she wanted to read it, she gave it a resounding yes.

Princess Lily is the future Queen of Waldenburg. To give her, her full title, she is Her Royal Highness Lillian Athena Isabella Marie, the Crown Princess of Waldenburg. If you don’t know, Waldenburg is the only queendom in the world – and there will never be a King of Waldenburg – hurrah! Men can vote in Waldenburg, but only since 1986 and it is tucked away in a corner of Europe, with a beautiful mountain range, but no fashion sense… This is very important to Princess Lily, as, as well as learning to rule the country, she also happens to be a fashion vlogger; known as ‘Tiara Girl.’

This is not great literature, but it is a fun, frothy read, with a big dose of ‘Girl Power,’ and, anything which encourages a love of reading in my daughter, I am in favour of. Author Carina Axelsson also has a series about an undercover model and my daughter is now keen to read those, so this was definitely a winner.

A delightful and fun book about a princess who vlogs and who wants to go her way (fashion oh my). I had tons of fun reading this one and I would highly recommend it. I have tried to write a review but it just ended up to be a long list of things I loved, which while nice, doesn't make such a good review. :P So I will just write a tiny one. I really enjoyed reading this and Lily was just an amazing princess (though she has tons to learn about it), I loved what she did to that secret room (and I wonder if her grandma knows about it), I loved how in this queendom things were reversed from how it generally is in the real world, I wonder how long she can hide under the Tiara Girl persona (given that letter), and I just loved her friendship with Leonie. And then there is more. But I will just end with that you all should just read this one.

In this book we meet Princess Lily of Waldenburg who goes by the alias Tiara Girl on YouTube as she wishes to be allowed to vlog but is forbidden by the royals to do so.

Instead she continues in secret in her fun self made in disguise of pink wig, sunglasses and customized outfit so no one will realise it's her!

However when the palace arrange an interview with Lily by her favourite teen magazine on the same day she secretly has an interview with them as Tiara Girl Lily must get her friend Leonie to help her not get caught!

I loved this book I feel it's like the Princess Diaries in modern times with Gossip Girl names thrown in, Lily, Waldorf becoming Waldenburg etc and it worked super well with cute royal animals and the feminist edge it was a great fun read and not long either very modern with the rise of the internet for youngsters to engage and monetise video's how they do these days!

Lily is the heir to the only queendom in the world, first in line to inherit its' throne. She's coming towards the age when she'll be involved more in the politics of ruling. Sadly, this cuts into her favourite secret hobby; filming fashion vlogs! She's just starting to become more popular. But how can she keep that part of her life secret, when every part of her life is under scrutiny?


A cute story for preteens. I liked Lily; she makes some silly decisions, but she is only thirteen and she has a good heart under it. This is the first in a series and I'll be looking forward to reading more of them when they publish.
