This is the first half of the popular "A Prisoner's Welcome." (See my review of "A Prisoner's Welcome" for details) There was a printing error and over a thousand of these books were printed as rough drafts by the publisher and shipped out. If you have one of these copies, hold on to them-they're rare. lol
Cutting APW into two books was challenging. In the long run, I was happy that Wandering Sage did this. In order to keep the book balanced with the second half, I needed to add about 15k more words. This allowed me to go back in and add some minor story arcs about Fezbahn and the dwarven embassy.
I hope you all find the ending to this book equally as gripping as the end of "A Prisoner's Welcome."

A fantastic start to a fantastic world. A world, in fact, that I would one day be hired to write in. Shane Moore uses his police background to get inside the villain's heads where he makes you love the bad guys. Or more accurately, makes you question who the bad guys even are. You see both sides of the coin and understand their reasoning. The question becomes, how are both sides going to win, when clearly they're both right? This entire series is well worth reading, including it's many spin offs, which I get to write for.

Great story. I'd actually give it five stars for that, but there were some typos and editing mistakes that bothered me.
