The author is very descriptive of scenes, characters, and the thoughts of the main character...almost too much so. His writing style reminds me very much of John Steinbeck's. However, he is creative and colorful with his use of figurative writing and which is not as dry as Steinbeck's. Overall, I enjoyed the book.
