In my experience Apocalypse-sized battles were either a Blast! to play or a demoralizing experience in which lucky (or unlucky) die rolls and army compositions quickly make one side an early underdog. Despite this, the ability to fight a Big battle with a variety of units, super-heavies, interesting unit make-ups and cool Strategems is a great idea and very fun and rewarding, especially if it’s a back and forth nail-biter. This book brings some more Apocalypse options (stratagems and units). It ends with a write-up of an Ork versus Imperium Games Workshop studio battle that was pretty epic and entertaining to hear about.
