There are many emotional conflicts all throughout the sixth book in the Coltons of Roaring Springs continuity series, and when danger is added into the mix, it makes these already complicated situations even more difficult. Lara Lacombe takes some previously known facts, adds in a few new revelations, and the latest Coltons series is once again filled with the unexpected. I was pulled into the lives of two people who are now linked forever, where decisions about their futures will have great impacts on three individuals.

While Molly Gilford had enjoyed the few intimate encounters that she had with Max Hollick when he visited The Lodge where she manages guest services, both knew there was never going to be anything lasting between them. But she turns up pregnant, and though excited about having a baby, she wonders about the father’s reaction. A strong connection when they were previously together makes any discussions easier, and Molly plus Max realize they have a number of issues to work out which will greatly affect their lives. As they contemplate numerous topics, an unknown threat is lurking and waiting for the right moment to strike.

The wide range of situations which Molly ad Max must face are realistically portrayed. They have personal dilemmas related to having a child, as any of their choices will have an effect on all involved. There are honest comments made when they converse, and I liked how they did not avoid any subject matter nor keep their thoughts hidden. As they travel along the road to parenthood, other troubles arise and cause even more emotional struggles. I was especially moved when one incident caused much anguish. A big stress reliever was Furbert, the helpful canine belonging to Max, and I enjoyed reading about his K-9 Cadets program of service dogs for veterans.

Several perilous events were not anticipated, and the danger associated with each is often very risky. Wondering how everything would turn out caused me to worry, as the circumstances could have gone in many ways. One incidence revealed information which will be seeking answers in upcoming books in the series, and I am very interested in discovering what will be divulged. COLTON’S COVERT BABY has jeopardy plus lots of emotions expressed with sincerity.

This was a good book, that had parts that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Molly Guilford was waiting for the perfect moment to tell Max Hollick he was going to be a dad. She didn’t want to tell him over the phone she was pregnant. The two were riding down in gondola when an avalanche left them dangling in midair. Being scared for her life she told him. With everything going on Max stayed calm, and told Molly everything would be okay. Molly went through a lot in this book. She lost a family member, and was kidnapped at gun point. Max didn’t think he was the man she needed. When he almost lost her, he realized he couldn’t live without her or the baby. It was a good book.

I really enjoyed this continuation of this series.
Molly really enjoy her job at the Lodge,as head of guest experiences. She met Max a number of years ago and they were attracted to each other and would meet up whenever he came to the lodge. However, the last time he was there she became pregnant. Molly tries to reach out to Max but he never returns her calls.
One day she is heading home from the lodge and is in a gondola with Max when an avalanche hits it. They survive and he finds out about the baby. Can they make a go of things? How will others react to their news?
A good read.

Part of the Coltons of Roaring Springs series, in which Molly Guilford discovers she's pregnant, but has told the baby daddy, Max Hollick, who is trapped with her in a gondola when an avalanche comes down the mountain.

This is one of several near disasters that befall her before things finally work out, some logical and at least one a bit on the fantastical side.
