A selection of portraits of some interesting and even fascinating men who took to the Church of England as their calling. I bought thisbook back inthe last century mainly to read about the Rev. Thomas Taylor Lewis who features in my life as the collector of the first recognised piece of the Ludlow Bonebed andwhowas a signoficant amateur geologist in the Welsh Borderland. The other I find good to read about is SabineBaring-Gould of Devonshire who wroteprodigeously - I havesome of his books. Good toread also of the women in the parson’s lives who did ‘good works’.
