****Not really that many spoilers since this was a short read•••^****
This book was way to short for my liking it could’ve been more to after they meet... I mean, jheeze... I know it’s a good book; and was interesting but DANG... smh !!! I wanted more.... but at least Peter got the girl and Wendy figured out who her secret admirer was... well her friends try to push him away clearly but at least she got her guy... though he was suspended for setting a fire in the chemistry lab 🧪 🧫 🔬.... that was priceless but, I was shocked that Wendy kicked him in the nuts and didn’t realize that was the guy she kicked I clearly wanted to know that too. But blehhh... I hope the other books to this series have at least 16-20 chapters... but If not at least I’ll reach my reading challenge goal if they are short as this one...
Seven Steps’s Rebels, Love Letters, and The Secret Crush (St. Mary's Academy Book 7) is actually - despite its numbering as book 7 - a neat short introduction to the whole St. Mary's Academy series. Why? Because you get a great feeling for the series without having much to do with the series main group of characters. They are mentioned, almost in passing (and if you look real hard there are some really minor details about who ends up with who in that group - but that really doesn’t spoil those separate stories at all). The stars of this story, Wendy Darling and Peter Swift, while perfectly formed, are only bit players (if mentioned at all) in those other stories. It’s actually a shame as I totally loved both Wendy and Peter and their story is so nicely done - and so much just plain fun - that I ended up re-reading it immediately. I actually hope that they reappear and get bigger roles in books to come in the series. As for this tale, it’s rather perfect in writing and execution, in the leads and supporting cast, and in the romance itself. My only complaint is that I really want more of Wendy and Peter’s story, but that’s just because it was so well told here. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series (and I hope Seven Steps finds some way to fit in Wendy and Peter with meaningful cameos).
Like all of St. Mary’s books, Rebels is loosely based on a familiar fairytale couple. In this case, we meet Wendy, a reserved and seemingly insulated junior & Peter who is much less lost seeming than the classic version & has been harboring a crush on Wendy for quite awhile. I am always a fan of this series but I would have liked for this one to have been full length with all the character development & angsty build up Steps does so well in previous installments. All in all, it was still a cute, fun read
This was a cute and very short read. These two characters had popped up a little in each of the previous six books, but it was always a mystery to me as to HOW they got together. Peter and Wendy. *Le Sigh*. The whole reason for Peter doing what he did was to finally get noticed by Wendy, and maybe go to the dance together. But what he didn't know, was that the letters he was slipping into her locker every Monday was making her fall unknowingly in love with him. When Wendy discovers it's Peter, she acknowledges her feelings for him. The end.
Rebels, Love Letters, and The Secret Crush is a fun, short YA romance. I loved the fairy tale tie-in to Peter Pan. A junior now, Peter has been leaving anonymous letters for Wendy Darling every Monday since freshman year, but they're not what I expected. In one he tells how he watched her help a boy that everyone was making fun of and how it affected that boy and him too. Both of the main characters are likable. There's definitely a humorous feel to the story, and a sweet HEA. I read a copy through KU.
CAn Wendy find her secret admirer? Someone’s is sending her beautiful love letters for two years but she has no clue about the sender. Peter is a very shy guy in love with Wendy all her life. But she sees him only as a friend. Can he risk their friendship and tell her is is the one in love with her? A beautiful story about friendship, love and taking the chance to be brave and face your fears in order to be happy.
Peter Swift has loved Wendy Darling from afar for the last 3 years but has never had the nerve to speak to her. Being part of the middle: level of popularity in the schools social structure, Wendy did not know him from the next nerd, Wendy was part of the A group but was falling in love with her secret admirer. This is a short read that shows to what lengths someone will go to for love. I enjoyed this book and it will make you smile even on a bad day,
Step away from Comfort Zone and Win or Lose This story was first published as Forever and Always as part of the Art of Taking Chances Anthology. The story is realistic and believable. It is sweet and clean. It is geared towards young adults, but I found it quite enjoyable. The book is nicely done all the way around! I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.
This is short story in the world of St. Mary's Academy. There's no angst, no drama just funny and rebellious situations. It was great read, heart-warming, sweet and romantic. Hope there will be time to read more about Wendy and Peter. Can be read as a stand-alone as there is not much references to other characters from the previous parts of the series.
This was a cute idea for a book but the actual book is very short and not a lot of detail. I would have preferred more information and more of the actual book. Sorry I can only give it three stars.
This book is a fun read. I liked the romance and humor. I have read many of this authors books and they never fail to make want to read more. The characters and the plot were so likeable.
