It takes a killer ... to stop a killer. That’s how crime lord Armin Petrossian sees it when he summons Bonnie Parker to his palatial home on Christmas Eve. Petrossian has personal reasons to take care of the serial killer known as the Man in the Moon. And Bonnie—a private investigator on the Jersey Shore who moonlights as a freelance assassin—seems like the perfect choice for the job. But the Man in the Moon has secret accomplices who are playing their own deadly game. And they don’t intend to let anyone spoil their holiday plans ... Michael Prescott is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than twenty thrillers. TEARS FOR THE DEAD is the fifth entry in the Bonnie Parker, PI, series.
Douglas Borton grew up in New Jersey and attended Wesleyan University, then moved to Los Angeles and pursued a career as a screenwriter. He has published 25 thrillers, starting with horror novels in the 1980s and continuing with suspense and crime novels in the '90s and beyond. His latest book is Bad to the Bone (2015), a sequel to Blood in the Water (2014). After twenty years in traditional publishing, he went the indie route in 2011 and has become one of America's bestselling ebook writers.
Bonnie Parker, PI/hit woman has no choice but to work for crime lord Armin Petrossian. He has called her to a meeting wanting to hire her to kill The Man In the Moon, a serial killer who is shooting random people. Petrossian doesn’t like to be told no. Bonnie may walk on the wrong side of the law, but she has standards. Working for Petrossian crosses a line for her.
This is part of the Bonnie Parker series but could be read as a stand alone. I like Bonnie and her irreverent sense of humor. There were a lot of twists and turns in this book with some surprises. Bonnie was in deep trouble and I had no idea how she was going to keep herself out of jail and stay alive.
Gruesome as the previous books in the series, maybe more so.
Bonnie is perpetually getting her ass wedged deeply in a crack, but somehow she manages to extract it, although not without serious consequences. The author doesn't waste time, providing the reader with a lot of unnecessary details and with all the action, keeps the reader on the edge of their seats. If you can tolerate the violence, you might enjoy this book.
Another will written murder mystery adventure thriller novel by Michael Prescott book five in the Bonnie Parker PI Series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series of Bonnie Parker novels and look forward to the next one. I started reading Michael Prescott with his Abby Sinclair / Tess McCallum series. He is a great author and I do not understand why his books have not reached a much wider audience.
Michael Prescott is a fabulous writer. His Bonnie Parker novels go beyond suspense. Delving into the darkest shadows of humanity are always entertaining and refreshingly genuine. Thank you for continuing to write Bonnie Parker thrillers and including them with your other infinitesimal and talented wares of astounding fiction.
Very good mystery. Bonnie Parker is a PI and pat time assassin and is called by a man who wants her to kill the Man in the Moon, who is killing random people. She reluctantly takes the job and ends up in a lot of trouble. It is hard to see how she will escape with her life.
Tears for the Dead is the 5th book in the Bonnie Parker series, and the series just keeps getting better and better. Bonnie is hired by Crime Lord Petrossian to take out a serial killer, even though this crosses personal lines for her. Bonnie was showing peeks of compassion here and there in this book, and each time proved to be an unwise move on her part. Bonnie is delightful, intelligent, intuitive, and her sense of humor is great. I found myself scared to death for her in many parts of the story complete with my heart rate picking up significantly. Anxious for the 6th installment!
