"Extra Large Popcorn: Tales from the Matinee" tells the story of a young man named Benji Watts, who lives and breathes cinema, but through circumstance is forced to do much of his filmgoing during the day. This welcomes him to a world of eclectic characters who at times seem to share little else than a love of the silver screen. Throughout the course of his midday movie marathoning, Benji forms both spoken and unspoken bonds with his fellow filmgoers that will prove to dramatically influence his life well beyond the end credits. This is the debut novel from actor and film lover Michael Lake. A loving homage to the world of cinema and the temples that house them, this book has been described as "a portable series of printed text bound or glued on one side."
This book is without comparison the funniest and most entertaining book I’ve ever read!
You are never bored with this book. It is written in a witty and wonderful way and brings the characters of the story to life in a great way.
The main character, Benji, tells the tales of his various and unexpected trips to the cinema and elsewhere and how one thing leads to another in a surprisingly, comical and entertaining way.
I will not give you a resume of this marvellous book as I think you should read it yourself to get the pleasure of the story.
