This book is the perfect accompaniment to a course I have been doing on archaeology and the Bible. Though a non-academic work, it includes plenty of academic references and comparative viewpoints in this hotly contested and emotionally charged field of investigation. I found "It Ain't Necessarily So", though published in 2001, to be sufficiently reflective of scientific investigation into the ancient history of the Holy Land to be an excellent companion to my study texts.
