Although fascinating information, this edition was the least practical of the photography books. It was interesting to see how cameras can be used for scientific purposes.

My kids absolutely love the Miraculous tv series this book is based off of and it’s not uncommon for my husband and I to find ourselves watching it after the kids have gone to bed. I was so excited to receive this ARC to read to my kids before the movie comes out.

The book is written as a prequel to the show detailing how Marinette & Adrien first received their miraculous. The reader learns about how clueless they were to all their powers but as the book progresses they gain strength and confidence. Ladybug & Cat Noir learn to work together in order to defeat Hawk Moth’s akumatized villains The Magician & The Mime.

I really liked that the book’s chapters were only 3-4 pages each which made this a really easy book to read to my kids. It detailed a lot of action and included many recognizable characters from the show. But I felt the author made the mistake of making caricatures of Marinette & Chloe in the beginning few chapters. The author made Marinette an outcast with no friends and Chloe a genuinely mean bully without any redeeming qualities. I didn’t feel these origins fit the characters as they are portrayed in the show. Without spoiling the ending I was disappointed because it doesn’t align with where the show is currently but I think it would be the perfect end to the series when it gets to that point. Instead the book’s ending creates a stand alone story that lives outside of the show. Besides these flaws, if the movie follows the book’s story then my kids won’t be disappointed.

Thank you to Little Brown Books for this ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

NOTE: This is the "Miraculous Ladybug, Cat Noir: The Movie Stronger Together" book, not sure why the GR title says "Photography As A Tool".

Thanks to NetGalley & Little, Brown Books for Young Readers for the copy in exchange for an honest review.

A pretty fun adaption of the upcoming movie based on the hit tv-show! It's interesting to see as a fan of the show what changes will be made in the movie compared to the show, but it still seems like it keeps the spirit of the show. Very sweet, light, and fast-paced as they're accelerating character development from 5 seasons jammed into one movie, ha. A must-read for any Miraculous fans!

Published in 1971, this series is a comprehensive overview of many aspects of photography. Only the titles specific to equipment; The Camera; Light and Film; and The Print are a bit outdated, but not completely for the same principles still apply such as shutter speed, depth of field, etc. By far, a great series for any would be serious photographer even today.

I cannot wait to see this play out in the movie. If I’m being honest though, this movie seems so different from the show that I don’t know how to really feel. But the book itself was adorable, the writing simple and easy to read. I loved the interactions with Cat Noir and Ladybug.

A cute little reimagining of Miraculous Ladybug. Defiantly not at all like the show but I feel it will do the movie justice. I will say that sometimes the writing does not convey the concept of what the author was trying to say very well but if I was in Grade School I would have like it more.
