Overall cool book that did it's job. It is not the book's fault it's filled with stupid 'heroes' and a startling lack of helpful information. I had fun learning some things, though overall I think I groaned more than smiled. Sometimes ignorance truly is bliss: I really wish I did not now know about so many useless DC characters.

An illuminating and satisfying guide to the DC world - especially great to dip into in the company of your child!

This character collection is more of a YA-oriented general survey of the DC character canon than an encyclopedic tome. It does gives the names and a general description of the character's powers, and also throws in a short summarized random storyline as, I guess, an example of what the character has done. (Sad how DC doesn't even try to rationalize their heroes' powers -- 'connected to the Red Force, or the Speed Force, or the Green Force...') Okay to bring you up to speed on just how many Robins there are, but gets a weak recommendation at best.

Gives a simple overview of each character's fictional biography and stats along with their key events. Interesting for children and comic readers who are unfamiliar with the various series to spend time on.

A “Cliff’s Notes” to major DC characters.

I wanted more details like when the character first appeared and it what issues of which comic. Not very in-depth but a great place for beginners to familiarize themselves with the DC Universe.
