From the acclaimed author of the James Bond novels comes Evil Hours, a classic tale of small-town murder, betrayal and, ultimately, redemption. Shannon Reece's mother was one of several women murdered in the small Texas town of Limite when Shannon was six years old. Her mother's alleged killer was convicted and sent to jail, where he was subsequently killed by fellow inmates. Now, 26 years later, Shannon has decided that the unresolved questions about the case, which continue to haunt her, can no longer be ignored. With the help of a private eye, Shannon sets out to find the answers, and what she finds reveals some truths that several prominent Limite citizens would rather she had not discovered. In a style that tens of thousands of James Bond fans have come to love, Raymond Benson pulls us, revelation by revelation, into a story you'll not soon forget.
Raymond Benson is the author of approximately 40 titles. Among his works are the critically-acclaimed and New York Times best-selling serial THE BLACK STILETTO, and he was also the third--and first American--continuation author of the official James Bond 007 novels. His latest novels are HOTEL DESTINY--A GHOST NOIR, BLUES IN THE DARK, IN THE HUSH OF THE NIGHT and THE SECRETS ON CHICORY LANE.
Another wow story by Raymond Benson. Very dark mystery. As usual very interesting characters and I like how the characters intertwine and how they come together in the end. I do the like how it went back in time and in todays time building the suspense and slowly emerging the story.
Searingly graphic picture of life in small town, post oil boom, Texas. Organized crime, prostitution, gambling, police corruption and a serial killer. One woman can't rest until the circumstances surrounding her mother's murder, a 20 year old cold case, are revealed and the truth is finally told. Exhausting but compelling read by the man who was granted the right to continue the Ian Flemming - James Bond series, Raymond Benson.
