Winter's Rise

Rate this book
Christmas is for losers... It's bad enough Nina Winters is failing epically at being a werewolf - throw in corny songs, hot cocoa, and snow angels, and she's on the brink of insanity. The last thing Nina needs is self-proclaimed 'Christmas Miracle' Ryker to show up and tangle her tinsel. Between pack dynamics, Genies, and Christmas Fae, Nina and Ryker have to fight for their lives and their burning attraction for each other.

Winter’s Rise by Breezy Jones is a fun unique take on werewolves and the paranormal world with a Christmas-y twist (who doesn’t love that??). Breezy’s voice is totally unique and her creativity is unmatched. In Winter’s Rise she created magic systems for different fae and exciting reveals all throughout the book about main characters and side characters. The novel is fast paced and full of excitement. Once I picked it up putting it down was impossible. The FMC, Nina, is absolutely precious. Despite being a werewolf she’s so rare and unique she’s a bit of a unicorn leading her to being protected by everyone. If you like forbidden love this is right up your alley. The ending was so mind blowing I was not expecting it to be so huge. I will definitely be waiting as (im)patiently as possible for the second book in this series. In the meantime I will be reading Tiger’s Eye and Frost Bites! I cannot recommend Winter’s Rise or Breezy Jones enough!

I found it to be fast paced and easy to read. Nina is a werewolf who found out recently that she had this trait. She is unique of her kind because female werewolves are rare. And she's finally in a place where she thinks she can relax and hope to come to terms with who and what she is. But when she meets Ryker, the alpha of his pack, everything changes. Not only does she begin to finally learn that there may be others like her, but she learns that what she knows about herself isn't the whole truth which sets her on a path of self-discovery. But her roots may not be exactly what she expected or what she wants.

I found it a fantastic fantasy story filled with beautiful scenery and colorful characters. I love when a tale has interesting fae and fascinating creatures, and this on is filled with them. Not only that, but it give us an unusual twist to the usual fae characters. There were moments of romance and lots of adventure. I truly enjoyed it and found it refreshing.

Story: This story was so unique. Nina goes home to find somebody snooping through her things. The conversation that they have changed everything for her forever. As if that isn't enough, she finds herself in danger that gets more serious as the days pass. Warning: Cliffhanger alert!
Characters: I really adore Nina. She's so fierce and loyal. She's definitely book girlfriend material. Ryker is pretty amazing too, but he can be pretty sexist at times. My absolute favorite character of this book has been Ryker's sister. I believe her name is Leigh. She's just so quirky! I want to see more of her!
Critiques: None
Narration: N/A
Final Thoughts: I really need the second book in my hands asap! I would have devoured this book in one sitting if I had the chance. I fully recommend this!

A fun read with a unique take on werewolves. I loved the chemistry between Nina, the heroine, and Ryker, the hero. I loved learning about the other supernaturals. There was so much to learn and so much going on with all the characters that it was hard to put this book down for long. The only negative I have for this book was the cliffhanger ending. The writing was great! The characters were engaging. The story kept me interested. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

Great debut book by a promising new author.

Loved the book. I found the characters interesting and intriguing. I loved the unique world the author has created. Werewolves, Santa, Krampus, Winter Fae and more. You get all these together and something's bound to happen.

Easy-to-read but hard to put down. Can't wait to read book two.

Breezy did it again! This story is filled with fantasy, paranormal, and romance! The story was face paced, and filled with a romance that Nina didn't expect! A story to read during any season. To me this was a Christmas in July story that had fun-filled characters with a spicey mix of fantasy. You won't want to put this book down until the last page!
I highly recommend this book!

Perfect winter vibes read year round!

I enjoy the really fun take on fae and Christmas themed elements in this book. You get werewolves and romance, vampires, and fae of all sorts. The Christmas vibes are cozy and family is sometimes better when it is found! I highly recommend this for a fun relaxed read. Grab a hot beverage and snuggle up by the fire. Put on some twinkle lights and dig in for a great story that will have you knee deep in icy magic, protective alpha energy, and secrets of the past, present, and… future?!

Absolutely amazing! I loved the story. I cant believe everything that she had to go through. I love that she was able to find family in the pack even though some of them wanted to go against her. There was such a huge cliffhanger at the end. I cannot wait for book 2!
