Detective Goldie Locks isn’t looking for just the right bed. Or any bed for that matter.
She’s on the hunt for a killer.
When she discovers the fingerprints of a once-upon-a-time lover, a man who jumped over a candlestick and out a window to leave her facing some serious trespassing trouble alone, at a crime scene, she vows to see him in handcuffs.
Jack B. Nimble has other ideas.
He threatens her adoptive family if Goldie doesn’t help him clear his villainous name, much to the chagrin of her current boyfriend and quite possibly the next mayor, Beau White, the fairest man in all the land.
Trying to prove his innocence turns out to be harder than she expected, especially when Jack refuses to aid in his defense, and instead, starts a campaign to ‘win’ her back. Goldie might be a blond, but she’s far from dumb enough to fall for his charms a second time.
Or so she tells herself every time his lips meet hers.
The deeper she plows into the rabbit hole and Jack’s soul, the more she learns about his motives for returning to the city—Destroying her perfectly crafted life.

If you're looking for a book to ease the boredom of quarantine, may I recommend "Cuffed"? This book promoted more giggles than anything I've read in a long time.
You do need to have a little familiarity with traditional Western fairy tales like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The puns are quite shameless, as is Goldie.
She's a detective in New Never City. She must find the murderer of a crime lord while dealing with the challenges of meeting up again with Jack B. Nimble, her lover during her teenage, street kid years and a possible suspect. This is not good for her relationship with Beau White, the fairest man in the land, a D.A. and candidate for mayor.
Or is it her adopted brother, Baybee Bear? Or the mobster's widow? Or Beau? There's no shortage of suspects.
The end is a dazzling whirl of possible suspects, gunshots, and more outrageous puns. Read it and laugh.
By the way, this is part of a series. However, you can hop in here and still understand what's going on. I did.
Another fun read by J.A. Kazimer. Would have gave it 5 stars but it lacked the hearty chuckles I found in her other works. She raised the bar so high that anything less than what she gave us all in "Curses! A F**ked Up Fairytale" or "Froggy Style" it can't be a 5 star. Other than the lack of uncontrollable giggles for me with this book I did have the book still give me moments to grin sheepishly.
The mystery had all the twist and turns you would want in a cozy mystery and all the charm of tongue-in-cheek nods to well known fairy tales and nursery rhymes; Example, instead of Starbucks the popular coffee shop is called "Wish Upon a Starbucks". Cute. Along with this sort of cleverness were many other cute quips that used more nods to well known nursery sayings or fairy tale storylines. J.A. Kazimer has a wonderful and clever imagination and I'm happy to be able to have a glimpse into it via her books. I've read a few of her other creations and I look forward to reading more.
Kazimer pens a grand story in CUFFED: A Detective Goldie Locks Mystery. First, I like the author's play on fairytale characters, and I liked the writing style. This story is interesting, and the investigation is not just something thrown together. Kazimer writes well, and this story comes together. There are some plot twists and unexpected things that come in to play. So, the main character is Goldie Locks, but she has a lot of depth and I must say, character. Her ex is Jack B. Nimble. Yes, that one. I enjoyed this story, and hope there are more Goldie Lock Mysteries to follow and read. This is the first story I've read by Kazimer, and I look forward to reading more by this author.
In a world where the 3 little pigs and the 7 dwarves are the villains, we have Goldie Lockes, a Detective in New Never City..she lives in Alphabet Soup and her partner is Peter Rabit. Plus she’s dating the rarest of them all, Beau White, yet still pines for a past love, Jack Nimble, aka, Jack Sprat, Jack B. Stalk, Jack and his sister, Jill, who needs money for a head injury...get the picture? She’s investigating the murder of Giovanni Giantiolos, aka, Giovanni the Giant Mobster. Oh, her adoptive family...the three Bears...and Baybee Bear is out of the closet and rocking his life! Such a fun book! I laughed at every reference. Even the evil Queen and magic mirror are in it!

If you are looking for a romantic comedy that it is fun and a little different than your average mystery, this may be just the book for you. My brain is immediately thought back to the way worlds and attitudes blended together in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The author does a great job of working in references to lots of fairy tale characters in a way that you have never thought about them before. There is humor, suspense, and you’ll probably be left speechless a time or two. So sit back, relax, and prepare to be entertained by this clever book.
I absolutely loved this story. It's Goldilocks like you've never read before. JA Kazimer does an amazing job reworking these classic fairytales. The humor and cleverness in each book always blows me away. I absolutely laughed my way through this book. I can't wait to see what is next from her incredibly twisted brain.
I love me a fractured fairy tale of any kind and though Jasper Fforde can spoil you for life in this area, i really enjoyed this. I've had a couple of this author's books on my to read list for years so hope to read more like this one.
I want more! I fell in love Kazimer's writing with The Fairyland Murders and would love more of those. I was so excited to learn of Cuffed a few weeks before it was released. When I finally had some time I read nonstop till I finished it! I laughed, teared up and laughed some more. I absolutely love that this is listed as book #1. Can't wait for more.
I loved everything about this exceptionally witty book and can’t wait to read more by this author. She obviously had a great deal of fun while writing this, and it shows in how the whole story flows along as well as with all the hilarious references to chlidren’s literature.
