From Bestselling Author, Anna Edwards, comes a new Dark Romance that is part of BLAIRE’S WORLD. Anita Gray is proud to announce that Anna has written a BLAIRE original character!
About OLIVER:
My name is Oliver. I was a guard to Maksim Markov; king of the Russian underworld in Europe.
I’ve seen things that would turn a cast iron stomach.
I’ve stood by idly and watched endless acts of depravity.
I’ve created hell on Earth in exchange for fortune.
I’ve maimed, tortured, taken, and I’ve killed.
My mind is dark, my inclinations perverse, and my soul is black.
There’s no salvation for me—until Amaya enters my life; a raven-haired beauty with blue eyes that sparkle like sapphires. She’s the epitome of what my life isn’t. I’m not worthy of her, and she certainly deserves better than me, but that’s never stopped me before.
When I want something, I take it, and right now, I want her—and I won’t let anything or anyone prevent me from making her mine.
Nestled in the tranquil rural landscape near London, I'm a British author whose journey from the world of accounting to the realm of writing has been nothing short of transformative. While I occasionally revisit my numbers-oriented past, my days are predominantly filled with the harmonious dance between crafting compelling narratives and tending to my cherished family—my husband, two children, and a lively household of four cats and one dog . In those rare leisure moments, you'll find me lost in the enchanting world of poetry, delighting in the creation (and indulgence) of decadent cakes or fervently capturing moments through the lens of my camera.
Writing emerged as my beacon of hope in navigating the labyrinth of depression and anxiety. My insatiable love for literature and the boundless horizon of travel infuses my tales with the rich tapestry of my adventures. I strive to breathe life into my stories with an air of authenticity that resonates with readers.
Within the pages of my books, you'll encounter heroes exuding charisma and rugged allure, heroines embodying both grace and tenacity, all enveloped in the cloak of dramatic suspense.
I ventured into Oliver having never read anything about Blaire, but it read as a standalone. Oliver is such a tortured character and I truly enjoyed seeing him being transformed by Amaya. She was so unexpected to him and exactly what he needed. Amaya was not innocent by any means, but her innocence was shattered by the life she was given, not by the life she chose. This is a dark romance with triggers, but I am a fan of dark romances so I was not bothered by any of those aspects of this book. I found myself wanting more interaction between Oliver and Amaya and delivery at the height of the book, if that makes sense. There was definitely build up between them and what happens between them and I wanted just a touch more before the epilogue, but overall Anna Edwards did an amazing job. I am a fan of her work and recommend all of her books!
Oliver... Oliver.... Oliver.... sweet baby Jesus I need me an Oliver in my life. He is everything bad and everything to fear but at the same time you know when he loves he loves hard and is willing to do whatever to whomever to protect what is his. Yes he has killed, tortured, and done what ever he deemed necessary for his job but when he meets Amaya things change for him and he is ready to finally give his cold heart over to this gorgeous woman who makes his heart beat once again when it was dead.
Amaya is sunshine and purity and she takes one look at Oliver and knows she wants him but she also knows to be afraid of him. When she opens up to him and they finally get together it is explosive and and very very dark!
Blaire's World has been an ultra amazing series that continues with "Oliver" by Anna Edwards. Dark, dangerous and dirty all wrapped up and dipped in a bit of passion.
The Russian Family where men are everything and women are less than and weak men have a short lifespan. When you know there is NO way out you accept and adapt then you transform.
I am the monster that lives and breathes second only to the Pakhan I don't have to love this life I am this life. I'm the toy traded by my father I don't have to love this life I have to live this life.
Wonderful characters that fit the story that's definitely a twisted theme that is the perfect length. A new to me author that started me off intrigued and left me entertained. Enjoy
I read this in a single sitting! Anna has delved straight into the darkness of Blaire's World and has created something darker and more gritty than I've seen from her before.
The consistency of the world was excellent, and Anna really did it credit. I loved the way it tied into Anita's world, bringing the familiar into play and connecting it. The setting, and imagery were vivid, and the characters really drew me into the story. I was hooked!
The only issue I had was that some of the romance felt a little rushed, and some minor implausibility in their situation. However, this did not detract from my enjoyment of the story and with it being a novella it has limitations. I am eager to see Anna let loose her dark side again in the future and see what she can do!
I’ve read previous books by this author so I was super excited to see she was releasing a book in the Blaires World. I wasn’t disappointed as I loved it.
Oliver and Amayas story is fantastic. Two great characters who I was rooting for. At a very young age Oliver is taken into the Russian Mafia. He doesn’t have an easy life. He believes he’s a monster however we see a different side to him with Amaya.
Another fantastic addition to the Blaire World. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author.
Anna Edwards has another of the Blaire's World books, this time with Oliver.
Oliver has spent the last 20 years of his life, the majority of it in fact, in the Ivanov Bratva. He's now up to being 2nd in command, only behind Victor, the Pakhan.
Amaya has been raised in a cartel. She's nothing but a commodity to her father, one that he's now trading to Victor, only neither Amaya or her dad knew it was going to be forever. Victor did though.
Anna Edwards puts her characters through some real heck. There are a lot of terrible things that happen going on here, and Anna Edwards really balanced everything quite well. I really like Amaya's fire and strength and the way that she does everything she can to take care of people she cares about. Oliver is so broken, but he's a better man than he thinks he is.
3.5 Stars Review by Allyson Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog
Darkness is set within those that feed off it. Within those that live it 24/7, Welcome to Oliver. Anna Edwards did a good job at portraying his life; which is dark, deprived and depressing, and turned it into a HEA. But to get him to his light, he must wade through thick smoke and shadows, somewhere along the way there will be hardships… can he survive it?
Not my favorite out of the series/set, but one that was fast paced and good to escape reality in. At times my heart hurt for his tribulations and how he grew up, other times I didn’t know how this story was going to spin (way to go Edwards for keeping us readers on our toes). Amaya is a wonderful soul within the murky waters of Oliver. These two are perfectly paired which makes for a good pairing within the set of Blaire’s World.

Oliver and Amaya were surrounded by such harsh realities everyday it is no wonder Oliver seemed like such a cynical character when I started reading this one. Amaya was a very strong heroine who faced every day with spirit even though it seemed to be an endless barrage of adversity heaped upon her. Not to often do I actually crave for a character to die in a painful way but the Pakhan Ivanov more than earned my ire. It took me a little while to warm to Oliver since he didn't stop Amaya's suffering soon enough for me but he more than delivered to my expectations by the end. This is well written but a dark romance so it does have some harsh scenes that may not be for everyone.
I really enjoyed reading the novella's in the Blaire's World series and Oliver was no exception. Oliver is a foot soldier turned Captain in the Russian Bratva under Ivanov but having worked with Markov. As one can imagine it's a gritty and brutal world Oliver has had to live in from the age of 8 when he was forced to shoot at his father. When Amaya comes into his life it sets off a domino effect of chaotic events and emotions. While the story was engaging and entertaining I will say the immediate familiarity and ease between Amaya and Oliver seemed somewhat dubious considering his role. In a world of extremes where life and death are always at stake it makes sense that two people would cling to each other so intensely. Overall another amazing read and I hope there will be more to come.
Delve back into Blaire’s World with Oliver. The dark twisted place of The Cartels. Where women are degraded, humiliated and are worth nothing. Where any men under the Pakhan are easily disposable and replaceable. Where violence and death are the way of life. That’s all Oliver has ever known since the age of eight. His life is not his own. He just lives to carry out the orders of The Pakhan. He’s obeyed and followed through with cunning and the darkness of his environment his made him so hardened nothing is too much violence. His brutality has led him to be second in command of the Russsian Mob. But something inside of him sifts when he sees Amaya. Amaya also knows what the life of the cartel entails. She has been “lent out” much of her life. When she “gifted” to the Pakhan she’s brought to her breaking point. Both Oliver and Amaya are such strong people. But it took coming into each other’s lives to find the courage they needed to try and take back their lives and change the course of their destiny. But nothing gets by the head of the Russian Mob and he’s not about to be showed up by his second in command. Great addition to the darkness that is Blaire’s World
I am Loving these dark reads from the Blaire Universe. I am huge fan of dark reads and these group of the Blaire world are hitting that spot. In Oliver, we have Oliver who at a very young age saw the brutal death of his parents. He swore revenge. Enter Amaya, who is the daughter of the Mexican cartel, who is traded to the mob. Oliver sees something in her, she becomes his light, his glimpse of what normal could be. These two together had me rooting for them through the whole book. I was hooked on the plot that has everything you like with a good dark read, drama, danger, action, love, and most of all hope for a future.
If I could give 10 stars for this book I would, it’s that good! Anna Edwards captures the feelings behind Blaire perfectly and transposes them into her characters in Oliver and Amaya! Full of angst, temptation and has the ability to draw the reader into the story from the first page!
The man Oliver grew up to be isn’t who he would have been if his circumstances at the age of eight hadn’t played out the way they did. He considers himself a monster who has no heart. Until he meets Amaya he truly believes this. She’s now a slave to the mafia leader, a whore for his or whomever he says. She sees something in Oliver from the first and knows that deep inside he’s a good man, regardless of what he’s done in life at the command of others.
Kidnapped at the age of eight, he was forced to watch his parents be murdered before being handed over to the mafia. Oliver Is now the second in command to the mafia leader in Europe, he’s the ultimate killer and torture comes easily to him. But, once he starts having feelings for Amaya his heart starts beating again, his ability to love and to have feelings for others crashes back. When things escalate and Amaya is put into dangers way he knows he must act and get them out before it’s too late.
OK, so this was a dark read for sure. I guess it was a bit too dark at times for me, hence my, hum drum feelings. The writing was very good, it was the content that just didn't do it for me.
These Blaire's world novellas are absolutely brilliant and I'm really enjoying this series. Oliver had me gripped to my kindle with all its dark and twisty ways. Oliver's story is heartbreaking but he made the best of a bad situation until Amaya came into his world which set off a domino effect on their lives. I'm new to Anna Edwards but will definitely be looking out for other books by her. This is a gritty dark tale of the Russian Bratva at its best and the epilogue was a spark of light in a dark grim world.
I started 2019 with an ARC of this book and let me tell you I don't regret signing up for the arc. This book is a must read. You definitely need to have this baby in your library. You will neither regret reading this book nor be disappointed. From the very first page till the end this book takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions. From having mixed feelings about the characters till curiosity to know more, this book contains all the elements to grab the attention of the reader. Once again the fabulous Anna has nailed it with this beautiful masterpiece♡♡♡
Oh Anna how I loved LOVED Oliver. What a angsty, gripping, dark read, that yanked me into its clutches in a blink & only allowed me to breathe once I’d finished his & Amaya’s story.
Seriously, it amazes me how you’ve managed to put so much into this novella. Background heartaches, present demons & future hopes, all vying for the spotlight in tapping into my emotions.
The writing was magic, the characters mesmerising & the story enthralling from start to finish. I devoured it & with every page turn taking me closer to end of their journey, I wanted, no needed more. I want their memories.. all of them. I want their ghosts, their demons, their desires & their dreams.. But you know what else.. for the first time ever in a novella, I want more from the secondary player you introduced me to. I want Rea.. OMG I just know her story would kill me but in the best way.
Such a huge read, in such a short space & a corner stone of Blaire’s World for me. Another new author I will definitely read again.
This dark twisted romance saddens begins with a 8year little boy named Oliver and a daughter of a mafia boss named Amaya who is traded by her father as a object to bargain with. Oliver has had his life taken away as he watched his parents die by the hands of the mafia king pin, and taken back to become the killing machine he is today. 20 years have passed and Oliver has no life only to serve Maksim the Russian mafia boss. Amaya has now been taken as payment after Maksim's men kill her father. Amaya life now will be to be a toy to Maksim and his whims as one of many toys to be played with, however what Oliver didn't expect was that this one wowan would be able to breath life back into a part of his life he thought long dead. This is a heartbreaking tragic story and will leave you with extreme emotions at the treatment of these characters and what they have had to endure. This book has violence torture and humiliation that at times is hard to read. A well written story with characters that will remain with you fille some time A highly recommended read.

Another great story from Blaire’s World this one focussing on Oliver, it was good. Loved the characters loved Oliver’s back story dark and gritty and his position in life and how he got there. Loved Amaya again a good introduction on how she ends up where she is. Loved the relationship and the hea, I’m a sucker for a hea! Four stonking stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me, would have been five but felt Oliver and Amaya’s story deserved a full length novel and that there was definitely more which I would have loved and devoured. still really good though and all the links to Blaire’s World 🖤
What can I say? This book gives you all the feels, whether you want them or not! Oliver is a hot headed, hot bodied mean mother f***** but that just makes you want more, and he has met his match in Amaya. So don't hesitate to get this book! Anna is a brilliant writer and I can't wait to read more!!!

Oliver is a dark and twisted story! A young boy of 8 tragically taken from his parents and turned into the top killer in the Russian mob. Amaya the daughter of the Mexican cartel, whose only worth is her body, is traded to the mob, to be of service to whomever the Top Boss says. But Oliver is drawn to her, she makes him feel, to want what his parent lost their lives for, to be normal! The last straw is having to train a new 8 year old to kill. Can they be free? Can they have their normal?
Oliver oh man what can I say of the man he just broke my heart. And Amaya that lady you just have to admire a woman who goes through so much and still has hope for love for hope and for freedom. I'm just loving every single story of Blaire's World they are definitely in the dark side but there is still light to brighten the lives of this characters that have gone through so much.
What a fantastic story of the Blaire's World. This is the first book I'm reading from these seven authors, and I have to say it as a great start.
Oliver, is dark and twisted. It takes you back to where it all started from. You don't miss a beat when reading this tale. This book has all the degrading, manipulation, scary factor, and the sick feelings you will get while reading, but that's what's expected from this and the rest of the books, that's in this world.
Anna, is amazing! She delivered Oliver, and he fit well with the the Blaire books.
I loved Oliver's story! It was dark and gritty so of course that is always a good thing in my book! I did have one thing that didn't really add up to me but I can't say what because I'm not into sharing spoilers. However it wasn't anything major to the story so no worries there! I would definitely recommend it!
The story of Oliver and Amaya is one filled with betrayal, vengeance, violence, abuse, heartbreak and hope. It's a dark and twisted story that will take you on a journey you won't forget in a hurry.
Oliver and Amaya's story is heartbreaking, from the moment Amaya is given away by someone she loves and trusts into the cold and cruel Bratva until she finds hope in Oliver. This story is full of violence and hate, with copious amounts of degradation and sexual abuse only to be topped with hope and love.
Oliver saw things no child should ever see, and it shaped him into the man he became, the man behind Pahkan Ivanov, which he didn't love, but he did his job. Amaya was traded to Pahkan Ivanov, as his slave, and it was life she should have never been put into, and it was brutal. She tried to get Oliver to help her, but he knew that women had no rights in their life. Man I was in a rage for most of this story to be honest, and I truly wanted to set the men on fire, yes, even Oliver. See he came off cynical as well, so he was the worst offender in my book. Luckily, I didn't kill my kindle by throwing it across the room like I wanted to do more than once, or I may have missed things. Anna Edwards did a great job with Oliver though, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
