A quick and entertaining read.
After an injury sidelines Finn's promising police career he opens a private investigation firm with the help of his police chief father. His business is based on kooks and cheating spouses, but it pays the bills. He spends most of his time at The Shamrock, a pub owned by his best friend Kevin. Then a former client asks him to help a friend who's daughter has gone missing. What at first seems like a case of a young adult who skipped town with a boyfriend soon turns into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Finn will need every bit of his police training and help from his father and best friend to solve this case and stay alive. This book was a quick read and was very entertaining. Although I had the mystery figured out very early in the book it didn't take away from the entertainment value of the book. I enjoyed the characters and the story. Although Finn wasn't a very good PI I liked him as a character and I enjoyed his scenes with Kevin, which added a comedic element to the story. I found the characters realistic and relatable. The characters were well developed and had interesting personalities, which I liked. I would enjoy reading more novels about Finn and seeing how he develops as a PI. I wasn't sure about the book at first but it soon drew me in and I wanted to keep reading.I would definitely suggest this book to someone who wants a quick, entertaining, detective novel.

I really enjoyed this book. All of the background information is covered about why Finn became a private detective. The action picked up towards the end. There’s a good amount of suspense and the author grabs your attention from the start.
Character growth is good. And Gladys became a surprise, which even I didn’t see coming.
With only a couple of areas where I found a scene change with no obvious break, which confused me enough to re-read, I’d definitely recommend this book and look forward to the authors other books and Finn’s other adventures.

Well plotted mystery
Finn had been a cop and he had to open his own detective agency, after he was grievously injured during his work.
He is entrusted with a girl of finding a missing girl and the case started harmlessly enough. All Finn had originally thought was that the girl had left town with her boyfriend. But as the story progresses, Finn has to keep revising his initial assumption as new facts get thrown in. Finn is left with a murky mess and how he solves it forms the story.
Quick read and with relatable characters, I liked the whole mystery.

Ends up good
Somewhat confusing at first . However it grows on you . Finn Delaney is a 25 year old retired NYPD due to a knee injury . His high ranking NYPD father has him open a PI business . Finn is basically over his head , however he plugs along. He persists in following a missing person case.

Couldn't put it down! Love Finn and his best friend Kevin. The characters are so real, very easy to relate to them. A few edit errors, but dosen't distrate from story. Already ordered next book in this series. One of the best authors I have read; and I read a lot! Highly recommend.

Well when the author mentioned my neighborhood “Middle Village” I was hooked. This book took me around my old haunts. This was a fast read, interesting, with a few twists. The reason for only 4 stars I did find some typos that should have been caught by a good proof reader. But I recommend this book.

Interesting characters. Could have used some more detail about police procedures as well as details about P.I. procedures. Very good description of different locations.

Not What I Expected
This book was promising at the beginning and went downhill from there. Finn seemed to get more dense as the story progressed and by the end, I was surprised that he solved the case at all. The book also needs a good copy editor.

Good detective story
The story wasn't too bad but the main character Finn was a little dopey. He wasn't a strong character. There was not much in the story line either. Don't know if I would read more in this series.

This is a well written and developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
