I'm trying to pick out travel picture books to read to my elementary students and this one popped up when doing a search. I read through it and to be honest with you, it bored me. This story is told from the point of view of Awesome, the family hamster. He explains how things go when the father in the story has to go away on a business trip. The family mentions they're going to send their dad a message by faxing him a letter. Well, in this day and age of email/cell phones, that seems very out of date. I don't really think my students would enjoy this book.
