A great attempt at describing South East Asia, from the nations' history, political, economy, and culture point of views... However, the topics are too spread out, and the author needs some facts checked. For example, Indonesia is not a muslim country. This is a very common misunderstanding amongst Taiwanese.
And the portions of each SEA country explained in this book is imbalanced. The author often gave more space for 1) Vietnam 2) Philippine 3) Indonesia & Myanmar 4) the rest.
My suggestion is to dedicate 1 or 1/2 book to 1 country, so the author can create a complete series of introduction to SEA, instead of compressing all of them into 1 book, with varying degree of accuracy. Or maybe just focus on Vietnam first if it's the author specialty.
