There are five steps between the idea for writing a screenplay and its successful release as a movie to 1. write the screenplay, 2. sell the screenplay, 3. fund for the movie, 4. make the movie and 5. distribute the movie. Most books about the writing/filmmaking process deal with one step or a portion of one step. This book is comprehensive. It’s about one process with five complicated, integrated and challenging steps. It’s an overview for anyone who wants to work in the film industry or any of its ancillary professions. It's the kind of book you will want to save to refer to again and again.
Excellent! I took a college course about film making and this book was so much easier to follow than the class assigned book. Loved that you started at the very begining of writing the screenplay. Have been motivated to get my own project going! I highly reccomend this book to anyone who is interested in writing and producing their own movie or just writing that next Steven Speilberg movie this book is for you.
Five Steps: from blank page to movie release by Nancy Smith is interesting and explains trhe five steps to take a story to movie release. If you are interested in writing a movie script this will help ypu out.
The information seems good (at least from the POV of someone not in the biz). But there were more than a few line edits needed on the Kindle version which kept me from giving it 4.
