Mark Waid (born March 21, 1962 in Hueytown, Alabama) is an American comic book writer. He is best known for his eight-year run as writer of the DC Comics' title The Flash, as well as his scripting of the limited series Kingdom Come and Superman: Birthright, and his work on Marvel Comics' Captain America.
As a volume this isn’t even remotely coherent, but as a primer for the quality of the last few years of Spidey’s stories - especially the Dan Slott era - it’s great fun. And if anyone is still unsure that the more recent stories don’t have that essential Spider-Man quality, the book is capped off by the tripe that is Todd McFarlane’s godawful art for the Venom story.
