She was promised a soulmate. She just didn’t expect him to come in triplicate.
Finding your soulmate is supposed to be the easy part. At least, that’s what Kady Quinn thought when she visited the Thread Reader and got an address along with a three-day vacation to fall in love.
But when she arrives in Shrieve Port and sees the fancy house waiting for her, she panics. Convinced the Thread Reader made a mistake, she skips the address and explores the town instead—only to keep bumping into the same guy. Or so she thinks.
With misfortune dogging her every step and fate tossing this man into her path at every turn, Kady starts to question everything. He isn’t the man she came to meet. So why does this feel like destiny?
In Mistaken by Fate, you will find:
A heroine learning that fate doesn’t always come with instructions Fate, choice, and the magic that blurs the line between them One destined thread connecting to three very different men Mistaken identity and romantic misadventure
MISTAKEN BY FATE is a standalone reverse harem romance full of magical realism, small town charm, mistaken identities, and the slow-burn discovery that sometimes fate gets it right in the most unexpected way.
Lyn Forester graduated with a Bachelor in English and an Associates in Graphic Design. She worked in the graphic design industry for ten years before deciding to pursue her other life long dream of becoming a writer. She grew up reading mostly fantasy books, though later in life found a love of urban fantasy and science fiction. She currently works from her home in Washington State where she squeezes in writing time around a busy schedule. When not working, she can be found experimenting with new recipes, reading, or playing video games and the occasional board game.
Full disclosure, I received an advanced reader copy of this book and I LOVED IT. The forth book in the Thread Reader universe, the second in the the Tales of Port Lapton, Unraveling is a delightful story of opportunity, fate, and the ties that bind us together with love.
Kady O'Cathasaigh is a hard working waitress in the small town of Port Lapton, where nothing much happens, unless it's tourist season and the leviathans are gathering offshore. Her friends banded together to send her to the Thread Reader, with the hopes of helping Kady find her destined love, only it didn't go exactly as planned. The stories say that when the Thread Reader shows you your heart thread, it's supposed to reveal who and where they are, all Kady saw was indistinct brown hair and the college town she once dreamed of attending. Taking a chance, Kady accepts her friends gift and hops the ferry for a three day adventure that could end in love. Once there, overwhelmed by the riches in the college town, Kady walks away from the address given to her by the Thread Reader, only to run into a man she has an instant connection to, Rory King. But he can't be the one, otherwise the Thread Reader would have sent her to him. Does she risk her heart for someone not destined for her? Or does she walk away from this man and try to find her destiny? Read it to find out.
Honestly? This book is a perfect romance. I've enjoyed Lyn Forester's other romance books, but this one has a charm and the depth of heart that is equally inspiring and delightful. You never know if you don't take a chance, and Kady gives it a shot. Even though I received it as an ARC, I've read it twice and I'm looking forward to many more re-reads!
I first read Unraveling in the Falling for Them 4 anthology. Forester does not disappoint with this latest adventure into the world of Port Lapton. The main characters are loveable and charming and I don't want to give anything away, as this one had a few twists and turns that were foreshadowed enough to not exactly be a surprise, but were fun to discover on my own nonetheless. Definitely give this one a read.
I love the thread reader universe. Port Lapton has just enough magic bits to make it different. I'm a big fan of fated love and the thread reader series has just that. The good thing about this series is that most books so far have been stand alones (with maybe 1 exception). Forester's ability to world build and create characters with personality who you can't help but fall in love with is uncanny.
I first read this in the anthology series. I was super excited to see the Unraveling was another story in the Thread Weaver world. It was my FAVORITE one Ive read in that world so far! I loved Kadys personality and i loved the men. At first I was afraid it was going to be cliche but when I kept reading I found myself laughing outloud and really enjoyed the whole story line. I wish we got to know more of their story.
So this series is one of my favorites, I love how this town has so many small sparks of magic and I love the idea of fated love. Here we have this sweet story of confused encounters and missed connections that thread through a story that kept me reading. I first read ty his one in the falling for them V4 collection. So worth a read even if you've missed the others cause it can be a standalone.
She did it again!!! Lyn Forester makes another wonderful story!! From the very start you are captured by Kady and then soon, by the 3 wonderful men!! But don't forget about Pappy, he is definitely one of my favorite characters!!! I absolutely adore this universe and hope we get to see more story from it!!!
A stand out among the series (in the thread reader universe) so far, Lyn Forester has once again written a masterpiece!
This is an incredible read! Moving, creative, amusing and just genuinely interesting! This leaves me wanting the 3rd Tales of Port Lapton book now! Or maybe a graphic novel of it...
This is my favorite of the Thread Reader series so far! I loves the characters, the plotline with the mistaken identities and confusion! It had some funny and feel good moments that made for a great story! Definitely would recommend!
As with all Lyn Forester books, this is another excellent read. I love how Lyn is able to world build while at the same time making complex characters with strong emotions that resonate with the reader.
Good enjoyable read, I like how the lyn has a town that she keeps having people come out of it, such simple read hope there is another story on how its all working out there could be some jealous going on so it be fun to see it work out.
