Learning to coach is a lot like learning a new language. Coaching comes with its own specific ways of conversing, and to coach well you have to learn the dynamics of this new way of speaking and aim to become fluent in the language of coaching. In this short eBook, Chad Hall shares the 5 Stages of Learning to Coach (stages which parallel learning any new language), unpacks 5 Shifts That Promote Fluency, and then explores 7 Language Elements for Powerful Coaching. Chad has trained thousands of coaches around the world and this eBook is filled with straightforward, practical, and sometimes humorous insights that will move you closer to coaching mastery.
I read this ebook hoping to get information on how to help my kids get through their really bad days. I learned how to approach the conversation to get them to think for themselves and figure out what is the best path. Using certain words really does change the direction of a moment of crisis in their eyes. I will continue to read more on this subject. It is helping be a better parent. Who would have known that a coaching book can help with parenting kids. The power of reading.
A fantastic, concise reminder of conversational strategies that make coaching experiences effective. As the author states, some background is needed to capitalize on the tools, but the writing is accessible for even new coaches. A great read to keep in your back pocket!
This book provides some key insights on how to take your coaching to the next level. This book serves as a refresher on pre-existing coaching skills not the first book to read on coaching as it proclaims itself.
I liked this book because it was short sweet and to the point. Lots of nuggets of wisdom. It’s a good one for professional development and up skilling.
