Rate this book
Acceptance and Commitment The Clinician’s Guide for Supporting Parents constitutes a principles-based guide for clinicians to support parents across various stages of child and adolescent development. It uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an axis to integrate evolution science, behaviour analysis, attachment theory, emotion-focused and compassion-focused therapies into a cohesive framework. Incredibly helpful mix of theory and clinical application of functional contextualist-based theories married with important insights from attachment/evolution science. Wasn’t thrilled with the inclusion of polyvagal theory, nor the repetitive nature of the later clinical chapters. Overall a wonderful addition to the professional library.
