“The Rebound Effect” states that in order to get over your ex, you have to get under someone else. At least, that’s what Miles Bedford’s best friend keeps telling him. So when he’s suddenly thrust back into the single life, Miles has one thing in mind. The plan is simple, and his intentions are clear. He’s not looking for love. But sometimes all it takes is one person, and one weekend, to change everything. (This book was originally published in 2014 under the name Ricochet)
This was a fun, fast-paced romance from a new-to-me author that I really enjoyed! Miles has just ended a less than stellar relationship and is not looking for anything new...until he meets Noelle and is immediately smitten. After one night together, he knows he wants more and tries to navigate that in his post-relationship world. This book was written entirely from Miles' POV, which was a refreshing change since a lot of romance novels are written from the female POV. It was really sweet to see Miles' inner thoughts as he tries to figure out how to spend more time with Noelle. The scene where he wants to take her to breakfast is particularly cute! The book ends with a really satisfying Happy-For-Now that made me smile (and want more!). I hope there's a sequel where we get to see Miles and Noelle as secondary characters in future books. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
