A TWO-PART SERIESFirst Lady Erica Winthrop wants out of her abusive marriage, but she is trapped and derailed at every turn by her manipulative husband, Apostle Magnus Winthrop. Excellent book 📗 oN how the forces of evil can use anyone who allows themselves to be used by the devil 😈.
It's a shame that Magnus Winthrop is so greedy for money 💰 that he is willing to kill his own wife and anyone else to get it.
The devil 😈 will always try and pervert the truth of God's word but nevertheless, God's woRd will ALWAYS prevail. Thank God for intercessors.

Magnus was an evil individual. His ability to scheme and his greed was proven. Storyline kept me reading to see what he would pull next. While I don't agree with what Erica was doing, I do understand. I plan to read the 2nd part mainly to see if and when he's caught.

Not boring but also not riveting

This was well edited and had a good premise, but it was not a page turner for me and I found myself struggling to get through it to finally make it to the end and it’s a cliffhanger. I don’t think I’ll be looking out for the next installment.

She is definitely Married to the Devil

I slept on this book for the first few chapters. Maybe because I had to work but I can truly say this book was so good. Erica was trying to simply live right and keep her integrity but like the saying goes the devil takes many shapes and along with her husband, her employees and that so called BFF Netty of hers was definitely the devil in human form. I just hope she doesn’t make a grave mistake. Magnus deserves everything coming to him. It is not wise to use GOD for your own personal gain. He was a sick man, abusive, conniving, weak and arrogant. I knew Netty was in on it because she kept pressuring Erica to sleep with Dean. Dean seems like a good guy but I don’t get why he couldn’t understand how his actions would affect him, his mom, Lily and Erica. He already lost a friend for his obsession with Erica although she had some ungodly feelings for the man child too. Tavian come with it. Come back home to Barracuda Cove and save those people. Do what god has created you to do. Lily she was annoying, tf, girl how you mad over a bracelet that had nothing to do with you? I don’t understand why Dean and Erica didn’t tell the truth because now she made up in her mind that they are sleeping together. I hate insecure women. This book was so good! Who all got shot? What is to come of Magnus and his scandalous ways. Will Netty’s deception come to light? Will Timbo and Ian be exposed too? Will Erica and Dean cross the line or will Erica stand firm and not give into lust? Part 2 let’s get it poppington!!!!

H.H. Fowler's Married to the Devil delves into a complex and unsettling narrative that intertwines corruption in the church, the exploitation of faith, and personal vice. The book scrutinizes the damaging consequences when religious authority and financial greed converge within individuals, mainly focusing on a pastor's wife and their struggles with their own demons of greed and desire. Fowler's exploration suggests that even lesser evils are not devoid of sin, posing moral quandaries for the reader.

The novel's writing style is characterized by a raw and tumultuous energy, effectively conveying the intense emotions and instances of domestic abuse within its pages. Fowler's use of vivid imagery and sharp character portrayals brings the story's darker aspects to life, particularly highlighting the destructive nature of lust and anger. The narrative of this book embarks on an ambitious journey, particularly in its bold transition between the two parts of the book. This transition showcases a dynamic evolution in the relationship between the First Lady of the Church and Dean Ripley, offering a surprising shift that diverges from their earlier character development and backstory. While this approach introduces a unique twist in plot development, it adds an element of unpredictability and complexity to the reading experience.

The novel's use of suspense and the strategic introduction of characters are commendable. Each character is pivotal in advancing the plot, reminiscent of Chekhov's gun principle. This meticulous character integration lends a sense of purpose and inevitability to the unfolding events. The intriguing plot structure of Married to the Devil sets a high bar. While the prose occasionally grapples to fully match the depth and nuance of the plot, it still carries the story with a compelling momentum. Readers need to note that the book thoughtfully addresses challenging themes, including explicit depictions of domestic abuse, contributing to its powerful narrative impact.

Married to the Devil offers a thought-provoking and intense journey for those intrigued by morally complex narratives set against a backdrop of religious and personal turmoil. While the writing style may not resonate with everyone, the plot's dark twists and meticulously crafted character dynamics are compelling for those interested in exploring the darker side of human nature and faith.

Great book

This book was good from beginning to end. I love how the author explored Christian issues without being overly religious. It was relatable and didn't have too much drama.
It first I thought Dean and Erica had a platonic relationship and Magnus wanted to cause a scandal. I was really surprised to find out Dean was in love with Erica. I thought maybe Erica was hiding her attraction to Dean and was going to fall into Magnus's trap. I'm glad that didn't happen.
At first I didn't understand Lily's reaction to finding out Erica gave Dean the bracelet, even though I don't know why he didn't tell her the truth. I guess Dean lying about it did reveal his feelings for Erica.
Erica and Netty's friendship was weird to me. They were such opposites and I don't know why Erica didn't see that she was a fake friend. I wasn't surprised she was working with Magnus but it did surprise me they were sleeping together.
Can't wait to read part 2!

I had to leave those stars blank cause this book doesn't deserve not 1! I'm go sum this book all up in one. Married woman is in love with younger man, and the woman's husband is a pastor who is on the dl. The younger man is engaged to a white girl name Lily who is tripping hard over a dumb bracelet. The pastor and his wife are both trying to frame each other and set each other up for failure. The end. Case closed!! This book is boring and I will not be reading book 2. I yawned with the turn of every page. I am too old for a bed time story and that's just what this book feel like. Sorry not sorry but I will not be reading anything else this author write. I am not impressed by a long shot ✌

Married to the Devil

Excellent read. Magnus the pastor and Erica the first lady with one son Tavian. Magnus is an evil man for a pastor and he is also an abuser. Erica is not all saint she should not have crush on that young man Dean who could be her son. With all the lies, cheating, gambling and paying to get his wife in a compromising position with Dean for divorce. He has no time to preach in his church. He ship off his son to engineering school in Canada never contact him in 2 years. His son change to pastoral ministry planning to get back home. He know what his father was doing he want to make a change. Will read book 2 to see who is going to survive all of Pastor Magnus warth.

WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!

This was an excellent read, it kept me on edge. The author really put this one together. Story line was very interesting. Hard to put this one down. This pastor could really be the devil himself he had it all and more. The first lady kind of smart in some ways, but she took just a little to much from pastor. My only problem is getting book 2,3, or more, I hate having to buy the next book or books. I enjoy reading story from beginning to in in one book. Sometimes I move on to another book. Sorry😕 !!!!! Good read.

The devil is really raising hell in Barracuda Cove! Magnus is the devil incarnate! No holes barred for him.
I feel so sorry for Lily, Dean lying to her. Dean hopelessly in love with Erica. I think Tavarian and Lily would make a great couple. Dean doesn’t deserve her.
Betty is a fraud, I had a feeling it was her helping Magnus, but getting pregnant with twins! A lot going on! About to read next installment!

Sinful

I enjoyed the main character's flaws (Magnus), I only wish the author would have given us a hint as to why he was so evil. I would have liked to have a little more background on him. I enjoyed discovering a new artist to add to my music library. Overall I will be reading book 2 to see how this saga ends.

Suspenseful

The author does an awesome job of building up suspense within this story. It takes a while for everything to play out and be exposed, but it will be well worth the wait.

Thumbs up

Really! We have to wait for part two! I wish I knew that before I started. This was a interesting story of how some people in the church may not be on assignment for the Lord. I can't wait for part two.

Omg can’t trust anyone

I hope this is the end of Magnus and Netty. Not sure what Erica should do since Dean is engaged. I wonder who actually shot Magnus and Netty? Maybe Mrs. Ripley?

Intriguing

Devil is at play in Gods house.. Apostle Winthrop has a lot of tricks in his pocket and dark skeletons in his closet. Freda means well but is it possible she interpreting her dreams right. Tavion will be my favorite character as well as Justin. So much deception here.
