Ivy has just cause to be wary of men. Her long-time fiancé backed out of their wedding. The slow fizzle of their undramatic relationship leaves her wondering if romance is a myth. Then, Adam, an intriguing new member of her pet organization, catches Ivy's attention. Unfortunately, his cat Isis, a beautiful purebred Egyptian Mau, prefers to pick on her cat, Memnet. Ivy would like to get to know Adam better, but with her self-esteem in the gutter and feline fights at every turn, she wonders how to proceed. When Ivy agrees to help a clingy friend find her missing pet, she learns that true love doesn't need theatrics. There's hope for Adam and Ivy, if only their cats would approve.

elBook Review – Meow Mistletoe by Lisa Lickel

Meow Mistletoe is a sweet novella (one day read) cat lovers will enjoy—especially by people who share their homes with Egyptian Maus. Like any good recipe that calls for a pinch of this and a dash of that, this little tale has a pinch of suspense and dash of romance in “just right” proportions. It’s a story of how one event, even when it goes awry, can begin to restore faith in love and humanity!

For such a short work, Lickel did a masterful job of her cast of characters. The main characters endear themselves immediately and the “bad guys” are quickly unlikeable. Supporting characters are vividly portrayed such that they are individuals with their own unique personalities without robbing the stage from the main characters. There are enough hints of individuals’ backstories to feel that this will be but one of many pickles in which we will find these characters!

I would definitely recommend the book to cat lovers, holiday fans, and suspense afficianados. And for people stuck in a waiting room, it should fit nicely in a purse.

Meow Mistletoe is a party you don't want to miss!

Lisa Lickel has created a heartwarming tale that will tug at your heartstrings like a playful kitty. If you love cats (or even if you don't), you'll enjoy this fun and fuzzy Christmas story filled with mishaps, mayhem, misunderstandings, mistletoe, and lots of cats.

After a broken engagement, Ivy wonders if story-book romance isn't just a myth, but she can't help being intrigued by Adam, a cat-lover as well. Her plan is to get to know him better at the CAT Christmas party but the night goes awry when a catnapping occurs.
Instead of spending time with the handsome Adam, she spends the night searching for the missing cat. The more she searches, the more mishaps she encounters.

This fun novella provided me with a delightful distraction when I most needed it! I love a cozy mystery, and Meow Mistletoe opens a series of cozy cat-themed mysteries with engaging characters and a charming setting. I immersed myself in Lickel’s world, where cat-napping is the worst thing that can happen, and through it I was able to forget a painful injury I had. A good story can get you through any trouble, and this story is just that—very very good!!

I absolutely loved Meow Mistletoe! Lisa Lickel expertly crafts a captivating story of mystery and romance. And while Ivy and Adam are definitely attracted to each other, you don’t know until the very end whether their cats will come between them or draw them together. I highly recommend Meow Mistletoe to put you in the Christmas spirit.
