Karl Heinrich Leopold Deschner (23 May 1924 – 8 April 2014), was a German researcher and writer who achieved public attention in Europe for his trenchant and fiercely critical treatment of Christianity in general and the Roman Catholic Church in particular, as expressed in several articles and books, culminating in his 10 volume opus Christianity's Criminal History (Kriminalgeschichte des Christentums, Rowohlt Verlag, Reinbek).

Los cristianos desconocen habitualmente la historia de su fe. Esta obra es imprescindible para cubrir esta carencia en todo lo relacionado con la sexualidad y la reproducción humanas, y conocer así el (mal)trato que estos asuntos han recibido de la iglesia desde sus primeros siglos.

De manera rigurosa y prolija el autor expone la perversión del significado de la sexualidad que la iglesia ha perpretado a lo largo de los siglos para así afianzar su poder sobre las personas, y como esta perversión ha impregnado la moral y las leyes de los países con tradición cristiana, generando con ello muchísimo sufrimiento.

Esta rigurosidad, y en algunos momentos el estilo de la redacción, pueden hacer algo trabajosa la lectura, pero la importancia del tema merece sin ninguna duda el esfuerzo.

Puede que el tono combativo de la obra desagrade a los más dogmáticos, pero los cristianos sinceros y fieles al mensaje evangélico acabarán sumándose a la "santa indignación" del autor al descubrir con él como la iglesia, desde San Pablo hasta Juan Pablo II, ha cubierto dicho mensaje con una capa de hojarasca completamente inhumana y ajena a él.

Το θέμα αυτό καθεαυτό έχει μεγάλη προοπτική ανάπτυξης, αλλά ο συγγραφέας προτιμάει να αναλωθεί σε λίγο-πολύ γνωστά πράγματα με ένα μένος που μοιάζει περισσότερο να έχει την πρόκληση ως αυτοσκοπό. Πολλές φορές, μάλιστα, δεν αναφέρεται η βιβλιογραφία απ'την οποία αντλείται το παράδειγμα, αλλά σίγουρα σε ιντριγκάρει να ψάξεις μόνος σου για τα περαιτέρω. Επίσης, ενώ θεωρεί ότι ο Χριστιανισμός σαν σύστημα ιδεών είναι το πρόβλημα, εν τέλει τα παραδείγματα που παραθέτονται είναι κυρίως αιχμές προς τις δύο μεγάλες εκκλησίες και τους λειτουργούς τους.

Πολύ ενδιαφέρον το θέμα τοου βιβλίου, αλλά δεν μπορώ με τίποτα αυτήν την τόσο χαοτική γραφή. Ένα σωρό σκόρπιες πληροφορίες και ονόματα, χωρίς να δίνονται πουθενά πηγές και χωρίς να έχει κάποια συγκεκριμένη δομή.

It's a book of about 500 pages; well only the first 100 are worthy. After that, the book only gets boring, going on and on about dates and names that are neither interesting nor useful. In those first hundred pages, you get to know the dark side of "saints," priests and nuns. As always, repressed feelings become stronger subconsciously and this book illustrates this clearly. Some passages are funny and others even hot with a dash of sadomasochism.

La forma de escritura es de los más random. Sin formato y solo listando por listar pecado tras pecado. Es poco los datos útiles que se le pueden sacar al libro, y los repite hasta hartarse.
